28m per year lower...

Soz to dredge up an old debate, but the forthcoming season's wage bills are projections that are in flux/TBC.... Pointless citing them.

22/23 - Arse 103.5m / THFC 110.4m
21/22 - Arse 93.9m / THFC 89.7m
20/21 - Arse 128.7m / THFC 129.1m
19/20 - Arse 115.4m / THFC 93.1m

Arse = Total 441.5m
THFC = Total 422.3m

Again; for the most part nothing in it....... Wages + Fees combined (since we moved into the new stadium) they've spent £32m more than us since summer 2019.

Figures as per:

Now if only there hadn't been so many duds, eh. :dawsonmean:

Seems like football clubs (PL) are an appreciating asset at the moment, earn more while staying still.
The last couple of decades have seen an explosion of value alongside parallel increases in media rights fees.

That growth has plateaued and the Spurs asset really only makes sense as a Champions League outfit, something the club is rapidly retreating from.

If we're a midtable side in five years, the sale price will be lower than today.

We're going to be a midtable side in five years under ENIC.

From Sugar back to Sugar, in the fullness of time

That's at RBL. Should think that's taken a significant hike at Chelsea.

Says here he was on 124k at RB.

So, who are the buyers going to be today if not ENIC lite?

I would imagine the 124k was net. The 192k gross. At RBL.

Can't believe Chelsea haven't upped that a fair bit.

I'm glad you two have each other anyway.

Have we moved on from Torres and Hincapie? What about the other Argentine fella, Medina?
Medina apparently has a domestic violence question mark over him. Hincapie signed a new contract a few months ago and would cost a lot. And neither probably fit the mould of the ideal Romero partner (leaning cautious more than aggressive) though good players. No fresh link to Torres now for a long while. AG mentioned Josip Satulo yday, Croatian, looks decent

So the 'battle for 5th'....... Not 'glory'.

Just sounds like sportswashers or more of the same to me.
Maybe so. The trick with Spurs is that darned trophy drought that no one should or will shut up about.

Regardless, the jig is up for Levy. There is no chance whatsoever we will be a regular participant in the pot o' gold league under his stewardship. That ship has sailed.

It's just a question of how much sale value Lewis is willing to see go up in smoke now.

Apart from short-term fan appeasement (not to discredit it, mind) an FA Cup or something won't change anything.

From the outlook of an investment company (one that are cast as brutally cynical, parasitic, tyrannical and a number of other colourful things); I can't see that they'd sit back and just watch their resale value go up in smoke.

How many seasons would you predict to be their breaking point?

Ange is a good move.

Recruit players that fit the way he wants to play, stick to the plan and we are good.

Reality is that we are always going to be financial underdogs to clubs with Oil money behind them.

Personally don’t care as long as there is more to the club and players than just that. Get academy kids playing, make the culture about the club and team being above individuals. Get the fans loud again.

The last one may be the hardest for them to achieve at home with the corporate feel of the place. WHL had history and culture in the walls. New stadium doesn’t have any yet

Tough to say. Unlike everything else at Spurs it’s really a Lewis decision as majority shareholder rather than a Levy one and we know very little about Lewis.

Definitely possible the ENIC-verse just hasn’t digested how screwed they are yet. You get the sense they really believe they can stop Kane leaving for free (not that that alone even changes the trajectory)
