Son was carrying an injury last season, I'm sure he will do better this season.
 
Romero shouldnt be going anywhere. The Juve link is probably bullshit anyway as they don’t have a pot to piss in. That said if we could do a Vlahovic for Romero plus cash swap or even better a Vlahovic, Bremer for Romero plus cash swap then great.

But my guess is it’s total bollocks

I'm cool with Big Ben as a backup LCB, he'll do a job, same with Emerson at RCB...but I wouldn't trust either in a CB duo, unless we play a League 2 side at home in the FA Cup (which btw we're winning next season).

Happy to be proven wrong ofc, but I'm not convinced by Tapsoba as that 'elite' signing, and VdV still too raw. But who can we realistically get having finished P8, with no European footy and a limited budget? Lol to CCV and sacre bleu Lenglet.

Equally as important, let's do all we can to get rid of Dier, Tangs and Sanchez. Rodon didn't really shine at Rennes, but if it's between he & Lenglet for the 4th or 5th chair, well I'd rather it be the Cymru lad.

If we play 2 or 3 CB's we still need at least 2 new CB's preferably 3!

If we want to compete on all fronts you need at least 2 good players in every position + maybe one extra at CB and in CM.

It's time we stop accepting mediocrity!
If we want the chance to win the FA-cup or the LC we need a good second eleven.

I'm sick and tired of seeing us rest 4-5 starters and get shafted by fucking Newport or Barnet! That's how bad we have been these last years.
 
Just had a quick glance at the rumours on SC and they say a new buy from Oz has been mentioned.
Can't be bothered to read the thread. Does anyone here know of whom they speak?
 
I guess the problem with tapsoba is while he is “keen” on leaving, he’s got 3 years left and Lever said they don’t want to sell. Still doable obviously but do Levy and company have the stomach for those kind of negotiations…

i cant see us paying 30m on a backup CB and i dont think we should either. get one of the targets and get a backup for 15m, do a bit of intelligent scouting for once.

Gotta find buyers though and the players have to ge willing to join Etc and accept terms. Selling players we don’t want is tough they won’t all be as obliging as winks and willing to drop to the championship.

It's a tough one and what do I know at the end of the day. Tapsoba and/or VdV could come here and become absolute monsters that we then sell to Real for an insane profit. But as of this minute, there's just something about either/both coming here as a starter that makes me feel uneasy. But then again, just my instinct as a fan with no access to in-depth data, a scouting dept, video analyst etc.

Gotta say I've always rated Tomori and Kalulu from AC, though both have their flows too. Le Normand from Real Sociedad. Ginter from Freiburg. Such players are fringe A-listers, which I think is where we're shopping.

To be honest my whole thing on our CB situation is that we really need a dude who's gonna come in and be the daddy, the leader...Romero's boss basically, not just his partner and even less so his subordinate. Need someone able to almost scare the guy, keep him in check, no more stupid shit on & off the pitch. I don't see Tapsoba or VdV having such gravitas. But to be fair there aren't many around Romero would've such respect for. And I sure ain't shit don't want us to sign fucking Otamendi! Mate of mine mentioned Sergio Ramos the other day. Leaving PSG on a free, don't think he's signed anywhere yet, though likely to head to States or Saudi Arabia. Old and has had bad injuries, but did have a solid second year in Paris (30+ league games). And obviously he's an unreal leader on & off the pitch.

And it ain't just about who we bring in. If some way, somehow we could get Romero to fully focus on his craft and give everything to us like he does Argentina, man oh man...even with the same crap around him, our defence concedes 10-15 fewer goals next season, I'm fucking positive.

Massive downgrade on Romero (despite his flows) and Kane.
