Do you not have the foggiest idea how a contract works?

Dier isn’t a slave or an indentured servant. You don’t sell-on a contract. You get a fee to basically tear the current one up and stand aside to let the player agree to a new one with a different employer. His current contract is bilaterally binding. One side can’t terminate it without the other’s permission unless there is explicit language in it that allows it.
It's not what he's saying though George.

We haven't proclaimed him as 'Not for Sale,' so you would expect interested parties to make enquiries just to test the waters and see if a) Dier might be interested, and b) what we would want for him. It seems that no one has.

That is the point being made, not that we should just fuck him off regardless.

No one appears interested.

Now that may change as the window progresses, but until it does, no one seems to want him anyway.

Why? He has a fairly good injury record minus the ACL tear.

League games last 6 seasons (38 total)

17/18 - 36
18/19 - 37
19/20 - 34
20/21 - 33
21/22 - 14 (ACL)
22/23 - 21 (ACL)

I haven’t watched him post injury, so he may never be the same, but if he is injury prone, then so is Bentancur.

He's constantly in and out of the squad and the WC break flatters him last season.... Even then 62 games missed in the last 2 seasons.

Reading his post, that’s exactly what he’s saying.
If Spurs were offered the right money (30m is the price mentioned in his post) then he can be sold.
Except he can’t — unless he agrees to it. He has agency and he’s said he isn’t leaving as Royal did in the January window last year. Presumably, clubs have finite resources to pursue transfers and don’t bother to court players who they can’t sign.

Goons sign Eng’s key midfielder nowadays thanks to ENIC. Times have changed

So many flaws in this crap thinking.......

Starting with the fact that we haven't been in the position to sign England's best player since before Sugar took over.

Pre-ENIC the gap between us was bigger than it's ever been (apart from maybe in the 70s).... They've closed the gap; not widened it.

ENIC didn't put them in the title race last season either.

Are ENIC to blame for Rice not going to City too?

That may have been how it read to you, but he's since explained himself. You can't just hang on the first post and ignore the rest mate.

I think you're wrong here bro, which is no biggie, we all misread posts from time to time. Have Matt tell you about one of his that I misread and he hooked me line and sinker!

The utter c***

Bentancur hadn’t missed a game from injury in years before coming to the Prem.

Chiesa has been missing games in Italy for 2 years now. It’s a big ask for him to adapt to the physicality of the Prem and play more than he has been

He'll be a good signing for whoever gets him imo.. he's just about getting over the hump of his injury and looked good physically toward the end of the season.
