I think we should accept the Bayern Bid and at the same time make our contract offer and allow Harry to make his decision. If he does not want to be at the club and wants to stat pad a couple of Bundesliga medals he can fuck off. We only want players who want to be here and fight for something.
Needs to let the club know what he wants.

Our situation is the same as PSG with MBappe.

Both players just as central to the team.

If the issue with buying both Tapsoba and VdV wasn't budgetary, our alternative CB options would be in the similar price range as them. That's the fundamental point.

Incredibly vague price-tags render it all a bit moot though, no?

Tapsoba ????
VDV reportedly anything between 25m - 40m
Tosin ???
+ Other names linked.

Hardly the most engaging data set.

(Remember so-called "reliably" sourced pricetags required; not fan, fantasy football estimates.)

80m euros is piss.

£80m plus reasonable add ons. 2-4 installments, I’d probably bite. But Levy needs Kane to reject the new contract offer before he accepts any bid

Equating to £100m is where things start to become reasonable (Hazard > RM being the marker).

But yes.... Kane needs to make his call to Levy.

If the interest is true and the offer get's North of 100m Euros then Levy simply has to take it.

IF ndf IF Harry wants to go then for sure, he will go on a free next season anyway, something that Levy simply cannot a afford to do?

Finding a sure fire replacement isn't possible, but spending the funds to strengthen other areas on the pitch is imperative.

Could Richy carry the workload, would it give him the game time, and could the team provide the chances that he would need to hit a twenty a season goal target?

I just can't see a good enough replacement coming to a team with no European football next season?

Thing people dont realise we loose kane we beyond back to square 1 the bloke got 30 plus goals last season and we finished 8th. People need to give their heads a wobble if he goes. Be middle table if that.

We know enough to know that Tapsoba and VDV will both be more expensive than a player who wasn't a regular starter for Fulham last year, is older than both, and has one year left on his contract.

Well it's our own fault that we haven't built around having one of the best centre forward in the world. Just have to suck it up and move on.

We have different definitions of "know".

If VDV is a mere 25m then Tossin given his HG status and prem-proven-ism could plausibly enter the same ball-park; BUT....

I don't "know"; I see no weight behind any figures so far and happy to await without hasty judgement.

i would take 90 at the end of the day if kane wants to go i would rather have a player commited to the cause but really not looking foward to rich taking on the mantle

if kane goes we need a striker not his level but the tier below should be doable or get a future star whose value will only rise in ferguson

It’s not simply a matter of the fee.
With a larger fee typically comes a larger salary.
With the state of European football as it is, you can’t move an underperforming player on a large salary. The last thing we need right now is to get stuck with another bad CB that we can’t move, exacerbated if they take up a non-HG slot.
We really do need to get this right.

Yes we have to get it right but if we sincerely believe Tapsoba or VdV are good enough then we have to follow through and buy one. Who are the alternatives, will the alternatives be the same price or even cheaper....if they are cheaper but the same quality and talent then go with the cheaper one. At the level we are scouting and recruiting we are not going to find the perfect centre back. There will always be an element of risk.

It seems a similar situation to Raya and Vicario. Brentford wouldn't budge on their valuation so we went for Vicario who happened to be cheaper but apparently is just as good as Raya. We shall see, but at least we were decisive and got it done.

Which in itself should engender a certain amount of patience/faith in the interim (as our keen-ness to get business done early last summer too should have).

Fat chance though.

Tottenham are facing up to the prospect of missing out on Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven, despite their attempts to land him.

Van de Ven has been identified by Spurs as one of the players they want to bring in in central defence. Along with Edmund Tapsoba, the young Dutch defender is seen by Ange Postecoglou as an ideal signing.

However, while Van de Ven has apparently said he’d like to sign, reports are now claiming that Wolfsburg won’t be selling.

According to The Wolfsburger Allgemeine, Wolfsburg now want a bid closer to £40m to sell the 22-year-old.

And with Tottenham apparently not getting anywhere near that figure just yet, the German side are content to keep hold of their man.

The WA does suggest that should a bid of £40m come in then they’ll consider a sale. But for now, it looks like he’ll be remaining in the Bundesliga.

Van de Ven, who has been lauded as an ‘exceptional‘ defensive player, would relish the chance of a move to England.

However, until someone meets the asking price of Wolsburg, he will remain in Germany. Van de Ven has a contract until 2027, meaning there is no pressure to sell immediately.

Time to be serious
While there is always an element of negotiation in any deals, Tottenham need to make their mind up on if they’re going to go all out for Van de Ven now.

Obviously, Tapsoba is a talent as well and there is an argument to make to say that Spurs push harder for him instead.

Either way, Tottenham need to make their move soon. A new defender is vital for Ange Postecoglou this summer and if Van de Ven is going to cost a bit more, then it might be a case of having to pay up.
