You watched Palace a lot? Poor you :sonpoint:

Gallagher is box to box, an all-round midfielder, does a bit of everything. A bit like Hojberg......imo.

You mention Silva in the same breath as Gallagher, now I would ask you how much have you seen either play :ange-hmm::ange-lol:

I watch a lot of football.

I was merely pointing out that his goals and assists output was impressive in a very average Palace side.

Also if you had seen him play you wouldn't really see him as the same as PEH - Gallagher, especially for Palace, played further up the pitch would very often drift out the right side putting in a lot of crosses.

We tend to use PEH as someone to recycle possession a lot in the middle of the pitch, something that can also be seen by the number of passes he makes week in week out - averaging double what Gallagher would make per game.

There are numerous other ways in which they differ too.

Gallagher does'nt make a lick of sense to me. Why give money to a direct rival for a player who may or may not be good enough? We have pretty good depth in CM even if Hojbjerg goes, once Bentancur back him, Skipp, Sarr, Biss and Maddison should be more than adequate for the upcoming season with no Europe? Could we not find a decent development loan for Devine this season and integrate him as our 6th choice midfielder next season, rather than bring in a player with equal question marks over their ability to step into our squad?

Paul O'Keefe has said that we are only looking to sign one of Tapsoba and VdV, but we are still looking to sign more than one CB.
It's a fair assumption that the reason we can't get both are budgetary, as the second CB we are reportedly interested in is Tosin, who will be considerably cheaper than both Tapsoba and VdV.

The idea that either Tapsoba or VdV wouldn't be interested if the other is bought is far fetched.
How much cheaper ? Wouldn’t it make sense to spend that little bit more and buy both our first choices?

It's 3 million, I believe, and it would be a drop in the bucket regardless. We need more commercial revenue, you know, the stuff that's derided on here by some, to be able to keep ticket prices lower.
Im not sure that ridiculous ticket increase yields much more than the little scumbags salary. If it does, get Cullen and co to reimburse theirs too and go back two years. So it wouldn’t be a drop in a bucket, it would net out

Interesting analysis of Gallagher from his Palace peak season.

Can see why Ange would like his engine and half space crossing.

Would seem a good fit apart from one thing: which side would be play if he played with Maddison?

Kane is our best player , a generational talent who would instantly improve the Chavs - Gallagher would be a punt on even if he is better than Hjojberg , not sure how you can compare them?
My comparison wasn't about the player's abilities, rather (not) doing anything to help a rival. Surely Gallagher would help us or we wouldn't be looking at him with a view to sign the player.
