They were the FA Cup record holders before the EPL and have won a 1st division title and a European Cup in the same era as our last European achievement.
We were well behind them during the Sugar era and only moved past them under ENIC as they fell and we improved.
The idea that we’re such a bigger club than Villa is hubris.
Aside from the stadium, training ground, revenue, global fan base, and brand recognition.
Or recent champions league appearances in the last 15 years. Or average league finishes. Or the number of world class players in our squads
In fact, apart from all the usual things you use to measure the size of a football club, we aren’t really bigger than Villa at all.

I don't hate that Newcastle and Villa are on the up.

It is concerning that Leverkeusen are negotiating a sale that would then (possibly? probably?) exclude a sale of our top-rated target ( if indeed he is).
Of course, we don’t know where the club are on working through its list of targets — we know Nelsson and others are in the mix — but it seems a lot of posters here are invested in getting Topsoba.
He needs to bulk up a bit...
