So plan Z..... You'd be happy with #26th on the list? ......If it was explicitly known to be so? ......so long as they were signed in a timely fashion? ....That it was a matter of timing over quality?

Bollocks you would.

By that metric you ought to have been pleased with Lenglet last summer.

Killman & Macguire could have been on the plane today and you'd be any happier than you are now?

Rubbish.

Bollocks to Brighton talk too..... People whinged about Solomon & Vicario cos they were cheap or not famous.
Yes I would have bitten your hand off for Kilman, Torres, Victor Nelson, - all perfectly attainable.

Low cost doesn’t equal cheap - I’ve never gone in for that so don’t try that bollocks with me.

Lenglet was fine, probably our best performing CB last year - if we had signed him this summer and kept looking for another CB I would have been fine with it, he is a clear upgrade on Tanganga, Rodon, Sanchez, Davies.

I think I have successfully poo pooed all of your bollocks there

If we signed one player per day for a week, some twats would only froth on day 8..

Some so called Spurs fans just live to slate ENIC and Levy.

Lord knows what kind of inner comflict they would struggle with if we got success.

Cucurella and Mitoma hit the ground running, the return they will get on those 2 is unreal.

The price tag is irrelevant of the player is good enough, I don’t go in for Levy is a cheap skate, that’s a misdiagnosis, Levy is either badly advised or a fucking footballing moron - I genuinely don’t know which, possibly both. World class businessman yes, but what he knows about football I had forgotten by the time I was 10 - admittedly I can only base that perception on his actions as I do not know the inner workings of his mind.

But we bought cheaper players this summer, it doesn’t get cheaper than Solomon, and most fans aren’t moaning about that, we’re moaning because we haven’t addressed the greatest area of need.

You appear to be incapable of understanding the real world.

And that lack of understanding means you try to set unrealistic goals for the club to achieve and that is why you get frustrated.

My initial post of number of incoming players is impossible not to understand - the message is very clear Spurs are bringing in players to fill SOME of their most needed positions and are doing it at a similar rate to competing clubs including Liverpool and ManU

Sure I'd love to have one or two CB's in - but I have the knowledge/experience of real world constraints and can relate that to Spurs and don't get frustrated. And as I said earlier - its not having that knowledge/experience which means you cannot appreciate the issues, set unrealistic expectations and get frustrated.

Irrelevant.

spurs but players when they are available. That is the only way that makes sense in the real world - and I've done 2 dozen acquisitions in the real commercial world which has just as many constraints as football transfers

Then you will know that if Google come calling for shit fuck PLC and offer enough then there is no such thing as timing.

It’s the same as football, Spurs have 3 constraints in terms of transfers:

1 the window has to be open
2 we can’t take players from the likes of Real Madrid unless they are willing to sell
3 we have to have enough money

The window is open, Wolfsburg and Leverkusen we can absolutely poach from - Leverkusen love giving us top talent. We have more than enough money to get the deal done.

If the world were that simple lots of things could be different

Putin for example could have worked out that his plan to take the whole of Ukraine in 3 days was never on. And adjusted his expectations

re highlighted ponis - These are totally different points.

I rest my case, you have not been involved with complex transactions before and that is why you are frustrated - you are expecting things which usually cannot be done in the timescales you would like.
I am frustrated because as someone who has a strong background in management, process, procedure and strategising I can clearly see the failings that are happening and like I’ve said it boils down to either poor planning, poor advise or good advise not being listened to - and it’s rife in the business world and sadly at Spurs

I’d fucking love it if we got success.

I like the Vicario and Solomon signings.

But

Fuck this bullshit they are pulling on the CB targets and if they don’t bring in 2 top CB targets this window, after raising ticket prices despite the playing squad being a ducking mess, then fuck Levy.

I could have tried to get tickets to the Barca game but not spending a penny on the club until Levy puts the same focus on the playing staff as he does the real estate business.

Where do I fit into your evaluation?

That's moot cos they clearly weren't high enough on our list for the club to pursue them (specifically) with urgency..... The window is 2 weeks deep; it's not bloody deadline day!

Low cost doesn’t equal cheap - I’ve never gone in for that so don’t try that bollocks with me.

Not really.

Lenglet & (your eg) Killman for the season ahead and you'd fine? Again; I'm calling bullshit.

Agreed, also though by the same token some of the flak handed to them is perfectly valid. Again I don’t go in for this whole pro Levy/anti Levy bollox - clearly he is not trying to sabotage his own multi billion pound investment. That doesn’t mean he is t making some serious mistakes though.

Lenglet wasn’t fine defensively

There will be deadwood playing in these games stealing minutes. Fuck getting the likes of Reguilon,Lo Celso,Sanchez and Tanganga fit at the expense of players who have a chance of playingg because they more than likely wont be here or play even if they are.
Seriously, mate, do you really think Ange is going to sacrifice the fitness and match sharpness of the players he is settling on, just to give minutes to players he'll want to see gone?

I like most of your posts, but this is knee-jerk. And similar knee-jerk posts are made about transfers, which is why some of us are dismissive of them.

I think we should all take a deep breath, relax, and let the window and preseason play out and not get too worked up about it. Come mid-season we can evaluate whether we fucked up the window or if we made the right moves.

I wouldn't want you managaing my assets/money if you were throwing 10's of millions at make-shift options after just week two of a 2 month window.
