We are on 60m so far and have already sorted GK, AM, LWF.

Do I expect to see 90m go on 2 CBs and whatever else we bring in?

I think two centre backs will likely cost us 70m in total. And I think if we lose Hojbjerg, we'd bring in another midfielder for c. 20m

60m on two new CB would be sufficient from the board imo. any more improvements on top of that you would have to applaud them this window, any less and they haven't done enough.

I'd be really pissed with Levy if he wasted 100 million on Rice (plus add on's).

The player is simply not worth that amount to us or as we will see Woolwich.

Managers make cryptic comments, comments to put pressure on the club, or to take pressure off in this case. It sounds at least like an acceptance that there was nothing imminent, and a pointer to impatient fans that it will be august/ late in the window before the key squad incoming/outgoings are settled.

At a time everyone was/is screaming for new CBs and we had strong press links to VDV and Tapsoba, I read this as, be patient, it's going to take time.

Yeah, sorry but that's a fantasy. There's no "pressure", clubs give zero fucks about supporters getting out of joint. They don't walk around the halls of Lilywhite House all day fretting over how to get James from Essex on board with their transfer plans.

We’ve got a 35 man squad atm. Until we shift some players we can’t bring in players to develop.

Although disagreeing with myself slightly, the thing I’d do is buy him, loan Bristol City Devine for a year so he can play some senior football, and loan Scott to Luton to get him PL ready and then bring them both back next summer.

At least with Wolves if he does come good he could come to us. If he goes Hammers it would be far more difficult. He is a Spurs fan so you would hope one day if he does reach his potential we would have a shot.
