There are so many mismatches that the squad can’t be sorted this summer. Two CBs will plug the worst leakage. Looks to be an exciting season ahead nothing the less. Interesting to see how the midfield shapes out but there are good pieces there.

Oh pls....... You know the point I'm making!

I didn't say don't talk about it; but you said "Chelsea are willing to sell? where are you getting this?."...

Nor did I say that they aren't.

...But if you're of the opinion they're not prepared to sell, then it's damn short discussion.
your post was pointless.

The discussion was about my opinion that Gallagher is a more proven player than Alex Scott and still had as much potential upside.

The discussion about Gallagher is due to the media linking him with us. It's not a sure thing that chelsea are willing to sell as you and the original poster I quoted have stated but that doesn't mean there can't be a discussion about it.

Hyperbole but agree.

Spend it on CBs and play Sarr

Agree. Sarr has a serious future.

MF is only an issue if we sell both Hojberg and Lo Celso. If we sell both of those guys, then our only backups to Maddison/Bentancur would he Ndombele, Skipp, Divine - which is clearly not good enough, especially when Bentancur is out. (Im counting Sarr as Bissouma’s backup at the 6).

I also think that besides the obvious need at CB, fullback is a bigger worry right now than mf. Right now, we have nothing good behind Udogie at LB. Reggie doesn’t seem up to it. Davies is not a good fit for an attacking team with top 4 ambition. Perisic is only a winger now.

And RB may need addressing in January because of Porro can’t improve his defense in the next few months, we’ll have to move him to RW (like Perisic on the left), and we’ll need another FB to go with Royal.

So rather than sell Hojberg and Lo Celso and use all the money on them for Gallagher, I’d rather keep one of our MFs and buy a backup LB, while keeping some money for RB (or even a third CB) in January.

No more or less pointless that the comment I responded to.

Fuck me you're determined to miss what was only a very basic point.

If (as you pondered) the Chavs don't want to sell then (as per my comment) any rumoured interest is rendered moot.

......Never mind.

I am a bit worried even if we get the two CBs and if sell PEH, that Bissouma going down with a serious injury would leave Skipp as the 6 for the rest of the season.

There is still the question of having no defensive full backs. 2 new CBs will help but its not a defence that will seriously keep us intact at the back.
Ange's change of formation means we may have to change half the team !!

Skipp is in the equation but only if he’s ok to play 6.

Biss & Bent have a degree of flexibility about them, so the idea of recruiting anymore #6s (i.e. backup for the backsups) seems excessive (and a fast-track to an even more bloated dead-wood sit in 6-12 months time).

We have the option of PEH, GLC, Ndombele (+ Devine) to register or loan/sell. We can def. afford to let 2 go. If it wasn't for the Bentancur injury; I think with the fewer games we have to play than usual that we could comfortably do without them all.

As it is I still think loaning Devine would be best for him as we can just funnel any potential game-time Sarr's way instead.......

Interest from other clubs seems to be PEH & GLC, so this kind of writes itself; BUT can Ndombele be leaned upon?
