That pretty much much kicks his argument into touch.
You've won the debate.

If I were you I'd walk away from this particular debate with this particular poster now.
Can you get any more nauseating with your ass kissing?

2 objectively capable centre backs and I think another striker. Probably need a central midfielder as well

Unlikely anyway but no way whatsoever Kane doesn't walk or even push for a move if he does not see these players brought into the club.

To have any chance of being competitive we must first have the requisite resources.

Then it's all those other factors.
Pretty much nailed it.

Although 'objectively capable ' seems to be setting the bar a little bit low for a club of our wealth and stature.

Top class would be a better description of our requirements.

So he'll be part of the first team squad but one for the future... similar to Devine?

Kinda strange wording.

In an ideal world we flog Sanchez, Rodon and Tanganga and go into the season with:

Romero -- Tapsoba
(Dier/Phillips) -- (Van de Ven)
And we flog Dier at the next available opportunity to complete the CB overhaul.

I'm encouraged by Ange's comments, he seems quite bullish we will get something done fairly quickly.

I think it's worded like that because of HG rules. If we keep him on then he'll eventually be club trained, but it doesn't give us the opportunity to loan him out before he turns 21. Despite not being a starter at Blackburn he could surpass Dier, Davies, Tanganga and Rodon in the pecking order. I still expect us to bring in two CBs, but if Ashley is 3rd or 4th choice he'll still get some cup games and be able to develop. He's a big talent for sure

With regards to Devine I still think the best for him would be a loan. Have him ready in a year when we hopefully have European football again

No, self entitlement is the way in which it is expressed by some.

Sorry mate, if supporters from clubs in worse position than ours were reading some of the shit people post in here it is no wonder they see us as entitled.

A lot of grown men acting like babies
I really dont see how wanting your club to improve and be competitive is being entitled. Thats all it is. No one is having a hissy fit because we're not spending £110m on 1 player or winning the league. If you keep raising prices and keep going on about the best stadium in the world you need an on pitch product that goes some way to reflecting that.

Manager starting to put a bit of pressure on to get the deals done:

When football.london asked Postecoglou whether he wanted new centre-back options to arrive before the start of the Premier League season, he admitted that it was a process that had been a while in the making.

"Yeah, I think that's definitely our intention, absolutely. We've been working on it for a while and we'll definitely try to get it done as quickly as possible," he said.
That's not putting pressure. It's jut stating a fact.

and I also agree on the woolwich's statement. we can't compare to them as long as we are runned by enic-levy

........Despite fishing above them many times????

........Despite there being no significant difference between our spending in recent until this current window (which has yet to close)?

Anyway, I'm still trying to figure out how supporters of the club with last seasons leakiest defence being a little concerned that it still hasn't been addressed can be considered entitled.....by our own fans for God's sake

Hahaha.... Classic JT disingenuity.

Even those that are not serial melters are more than "a little concerned".... Every fucking poster here has concern for the matter.

However; when people are casually banding round words like "disgrace", "disgusting" and so-on as early as 10 days into the trf window; then that represents something distinctly different to "a little concern".

Made about 5 Championship starts and a few cup starts - so say a dozrn or so starts.

Only turned 18 a month ago so playing wise that's good as he would only have been aged 17 making an impact on Championship ..... and few 17 years olds do that
Slightly annoying then, that we could have jumped 1month earlier and made him CT…

Oh well, it seems that strategy we wanted (jumping on youth internationals outside Prem clubs) is being planned for.

From the post you quoted. "No, self entitlement is the way in which it is expressed by some."

You don't sound entitled in what you've just said...... But others can certainly be said to fit the blokes definition.

Sounds like he’s going to be pretty ruthless gutting the squad (if levy doesn’t fuck him over of course).

Some of it I had identified early on. I don't think it's any secret about some of the areas we needed to strengthen. The goalkeeper was one and central defence is another," he said.

"In terms of the other boys, we've got a big squad but my view is I wanted to bring them along and just work with them and get some clarity in my head and give clarity to them because I think you'll find that a lot of them will say 'to be honest it's not for me, the way we're playing and the way we're training', because like I say I do things differently.

"Every day we have together, every game like last night, it gives you clarity about certain things and there's no doubt that the squad will be whittled down and there will be some more changes between now and probably the end of the transfer window."

love how ruthless he seems to be.

I agree with you but people are having hissy fits because we are yet to sign a CB in a way that comes off that other fan see as entitled.

Take it up with them! I don't see it as entitled, just annoying in the WAY it is brought up.

.. Slight tangent, but, do hone transfer policy now has an eye on mid term not just next season..
So to be club trained that's 3 years at the club (not loaned, right) before you turn 21. So yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
And Dorrington been here 3 years already? So we could loan him out for his development? (Id rather us get good loan for both, would even be worth hit if between Dorrington, Moore, devine, etc we feel we have club trained covered..)
.. Back on track..
Like ange said, we need CBs, let's get it done!

We need some leadership and some clarity needs to be made about the Kane situation. Ange, the players, the fans need to know NOW, whether he's going or staying.

If he's going, start planning for a life without Kane and get the deal done with Munich quickly.
If he's staying tell Munich and other suitors to fuck off because he's not for sale, stop haggling over 5/10m, stop hovering over Ange's shoulder in training and get those deals with the CBs done and get in the other players we need. Because if you are prepared to let Kane walk away on a free, then we have money to spend; so do it and do it quick!
