How anyone would think Son simply wouldn't slot in as that #9 in Anges system after watching West Ham is beyond me.

We looked so much better in that second half with someone running in behind. Replace Richarlison in that half with Son and we probably win that game. The amount of chances we'd be creating for him. He's the closest to an Ange #9 that we've got.

If we sold Kane. It'd be pointless signing a striker when we could probably do with two centre backs and a wide player.
Yeah I love Kane and obviously he's one of the best players in the world, but can he really work in such a dynamic system?

I had thought Ange might try and adapt his system to accommodate Kane but he didn't really (though it was only one game).

I think it was promising that we looked better without him and scored two without him. But again, small sample size.

Fair enough but would you like to know whether Kane is staying or going?

Id love to know that, but I don't see how knowing a fee and deadline would confirm that for me until, obviously after the deadline - in which case we only need to know at that point.

What it might do however is weaken our ability to do better deals for incoming players and give the press even more shite to write about us.

If you're Romero, Bentancur, Madison or Bissouma, are you going to accept player of inferior stock as your captain? A player that is well below your level?

We have already seen how that donkey Maguire captaincy turned out for United, the likes of Bruno and Pogba were openly taking the piss out of him.

Anyone who has played football even at grass root level understands this, you never give captaincy to one of your worst players in the team as superior players will never respect and accept him as a captain.
Absolute garbage.

Hoddle and Ardiles were far superior players than Perryman and he was a great captain who everybody respected.

They don't say who the in house player is.

Tottenham chief Daniel Levy 'wants two players' to replace Harry Kane after final warning
Harry Kane has put Tottenham in an awkward position amid interest from Bayern Munich in a summer transfer.

Tottenham will reportedly seek out one in-house solution and one summer transfer recruit to fill the void left by Harry Kane if he leaves the club. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is already in an unenviable position regarding the England captain's future, and Kane's stance on signing a new contract will only make his job more difficult.

The fact that Kane has only one year left to run on his contract poses a conundrum to senior figures at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Waving goodbye to their best player would be a bitter pill to swallow for fans, but losing the striker for free in 12 months' time would be equally painful.

According to The Times, any hopes of the Spurs academy graduate signing a new deal have gone up in smoke. Kane has no plans to commit his future to the club, serving as a final warning to Levy that this summer is his last remaining chance to cash in.

The 29-year-old is the subject of serious interest from Bayern Munich, and he is thought to be keen on joining up with manager Thomas Tuchel in the Bundesliga.

Hotspur88 this morning over on truth central, aka SC:

"We are still interested in bringing both in. In an ideal world, that's been the plan from the beginning"!

"Whether we can make it happen is a completely different matter. But we are certainly trying to do both deals. We should know this week whether that's actually possible"

So we could, might, maybe, should, possibly, sign both, one, or neither.

That's the sort of incisive ITK that has made this idiot the laughing stock of on SC

I don't think it would but our position is not that strong, if we ask too much, clubs will just wait until next year.

Sanchez, PEH, and Kane out. Mickey, Tapsoba, and a striker in. That would be alright by me.

That's a summer window I can get behind with the new boss, a new direction, and a fresh start. Let Ange evaluate what's left, Dier leaves on a free next summer with whoever else Ange doesn't like, plug more holes then with an eye focused on 2024/25.

The "in-house" is Richarlison. The 2nd player is someone to backup/compete with Richarlison. Needs to be someone good, not just someone with promise or we might find ourself with another Soldado shit show on our hands.
I don't think it's Richarlison. There's been talk for a long time about how we need to replace Kane with two players: 1 for the creativity, 1 for the goals. Maddison + new striker makes sense.

just how crap are Dier and Sanchez that not even the Saudi league wants them
How crap must the Saudi League be that Dier doesn’t want to play there?
Dier refuses to move. De facto, he’s not for sale.
It's bullshit. Just wait. We'll start the season with Kane, Taps and VdV.
Charlie all but told us that Harry wants out. The only way he could make it any clearer is if he put an announcement in The Times.
