I call bollocks:

1) LWOS sucks as a source of information.
2) There is no way the player would have come for a medical if a transfer fee and personal terms had not been agreed.
3) The £3m fee was said to be a release clause which leaves Blackburn with no leverage for negotiation.
Reading conflicting reports as to whether the release clause exists, as to whether we’ve met it or if there is more to be negotiated over sell-on/add-ons.

It’s very telling to me that everything’s gone quiet since we’ve gone on tour. Levy’s so busy gladhanding prospective sponsors, and the rest of the operation hasn’t got the seniority to take care of business without a DOF.

Apparently, this is a controversial take.

Only it won't be when no deals get done until the end of the tour and we are left scrambling for Tosin and Lenglet at the end of the window.

Can't believe we could have taken 60m for Son from the Saudis and we turned it down.
He didn't want to go.

In a game full of mercenaries we should value loyalty, not try and send him to Saudi Arabia. He signed a new contract when we had just brought in Nuno and Kane was not turning up to training.

Also, despite a poor time last season (hernia injury throughout?) he still scored 10 goals and got 6 assists. With Kane leaving either this year or next, we need to have some goalscorers in the squad.

Property portfolio Inc, I remember when we were known as THFC , an actual football club not the joke we are now.
But it seems like only yesterday that Alan Sugar was in charge , what do you expect in such a short period of time, strewth some people. Next thing you will be saying is one League Cup in 23 years is underwhelming .

What other football team has a club shop that also sells NFL merchandise ?

For me the only error in 23 years was not building the cheese room

EDIT : Let’s buy a centre half from Grimsby , does not matter which one . Hopefully this last added sentence is on topic and avoids me getting a yellow for derailing the thread with my pro Levy bias

I haven’t named one striker other than Toney so a case of mistaken identity I’m afraid.

Apologies.

Not surprising though, when the crux of your argument is that Son scored goals from out wide, so there’s no reason he can’t play CF, it really negates any point you’ve made or any understanding of the nuances of playing CF.

No, I base my argument on Son being a good finisher and fitting the criteria needed for a number 9 in Anges system.

There's a lack of affordable top class strikers out there. Man Utd are struggling to find one for a reasonable sum, despite needing one alot more than we do and having way bigger pull.

To go back to where we began discussing this, you believe Son is the obvious choice for number 9 if Kane leaves.

I think it's a good choice in this system, certainly. But then, I don't think Kane is a good stylistic fit for this system either.

I can see merit to playing him through the middle but do not believe it’s an ideal situation and we should monitor the wider market if we think that suitable CFs are available.

I think we should be monitoring the wider market too and have said that from day one but come to realise that this shouldn't be a rushed job.

If if takes months of negotiating, scouting and realising someone is the right man, go for it.

Again, I reiterate:

It was dumb having 1 CF when it was Kane, ignorant when that player is Richie.

Not saying we have to go spend £80M on a CF.

Not saying Richarlison doesn't get a run of games at CF - simply that he doesn't have to play 45ish games next season.

I find it really stupid to answer the need for depth at CF by moving a player who won the golden boot 14 months ago at LW away from LW.

Strengthen the weakness, don't create a 2nd weakness. Sign another striker to play up front, let Son do what he's shown he can do great in the past.

I completely disagree.

But we'll end it there. We're not going to agree on the fact Son ticks pretty much every box as the ideal number 9 in Anges system so it's pointless discussion going forward.

I wonder if that’s because they spunked an extra 40m on a RWB in January that they had no intention of buying in Summer. It was clear that Spence was the intended RWB for last year but Wiggy made them change plans.
Yes I keep saying that we had no need to buy porro for £40M! Didn’t exactly work out as the game changer. He was responsible for some horrible goals even playing at rwb. He didn’t really attack much more than Doh. Basically we dropped like a stone after he came. Ok the managerial changes did not help. Who’s to say if we kept Doh, spence and royal we would have performed any worse. Now it seems this cannot play in 4 so is basically useless. If we wanted a wide attacking player on the right we would not have gone for him. We’d go for someone who plays in that position. Shocking g transfer business all round!
