Conjecture based on 20+ years of watching Levy and his merry men pull us down to their level... plus another 40 years of support so please don't patronise me....
Mate, seriously?

They didn't buy us when we were winning everything in sight, quite the opposite. We reached the level we're at because ENIC raised us to those levels, so the idea that they've 'pulled us down to their level' over the last 20 years is hyperbolic bullshit.

They've mismanaged the last 4-5 years, that's not in question. There are still some of us that hope they're in the process of correcting that, and are holding off judgement until we see whether the hope is correct or you are indeed correct.

But every time this argument comes up, the perceived faults are exaggerated in the extreme.

20 years dragging us down? With statements like that you really shouldn't be surprised at being patronised.

Are we in the title hunt this year, where losing the first 2 games will dash our hopes? I must have missed that part. I always thought this season was a write-off to allow Ange to implement his style. Tough crowd.
What?
You really are a special person.
Keep up the positivity
Mr Levy has done a number on you,
How can you not see what is going to happen?

Most “major” papers running the same story.

Has to be a leak from Kane’s team.

No way Levy would want to lose leverage in Bayern negotiations

First time Lewis actually made a football decision in the history of ownership ?

Telegraph report. It’s coming from Man Utd this I bet.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been told he must sell Harry Kane if he cannot persuade the England captain to sign a new contract.

Spurs owner Joe Lewis is understood to have informed Levy he is unprepared to let Kane run down his contract and leave as a free agent next summer.

Sources have indicated that if Levy cannot convince the striker to extend his deal, Lewis will expect the club to sell rather than forgo a huge fee, with Tottenham valuing Kane at around £100 million, if not more.

Bayern Munich are preparing a third offer for Kane and do not believe the striker wants to sign a new contract with Tottenham, who are thought to be willing to pay him as much as £400,000 a week to stay.

It remains to be seen if Manchester United could be tempted to formalise their interest in Kane - who would be manager Erik ten Hag’s dream target - given Lewis’ ultimatum.

But, for now at least, the club are pursuing Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund and have other targets on their list amid reservations about Tottenham’s willingness to sell to them and the overall cost of the deal.

If forced to sell Kane - who turns 30 on Friday - Levy would much prefer to do so to an overseas club rather than a Premier League rival, which strengthens Bayern’s hand.

Nonetheless, the prospect of allowing Kane - as close to a guarantee of goals as any player realistically available this summer - to move to Bayern without putting up a fight for his services would frustrate many United fans given the uplift he would bring.

Kane’s wife Kate has reportedly been looking at homes in Munich and Bayern believe the player is willing to join them.

A move abroad would effectively end Kane’s ambition to break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goals record. He is currently 47 short of equalling Shearer’s total of 260.

But Kane is also desperate to win trophies and Thomas Tuchel, the Bayern coach, is thought to have told him they can win the Champions League together.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is becoming increasingly frustrated by the talk around Kane and has urged the club to resolve his future and admitted he is “not relaxed” about the situation.

Postecoglou’s mood was not helped this week when a German journalist ambushed his press conference in Bangkok to display a Bayern shirt with Kane’s number on the back.

Kane is not the only England international Bayern are trying to sign. Tuchel also wants to bring Kyle Walker to Germany from Manchester City in a potential £15m deal. Pep Guardiola, the City manager, held talks with Walker about his future in recent days and is now awaiting a final decision from the defender.

United are huge admirers of Kane but have been wary of being drawn into a stand-off with Levy and the cost of trying to do a deal given the limitations on what they can spend owing to Uefa’s new Financial Sustainability rules governing spending.

Got hammered by a few Levy apologists.

Seems both our Pre-Season and Transfer windows are a Masterclass. We are an embarrassing FC. Highest ticket prices, Of the Highest Club Jersey prices. Of the Most Expensive stadium Food and beverage prices but battling to together a real Football team.

If anyone still has confidence in Levy the Flagellants are looking for volunteers and they'll give you then whips and chains for free.

One of the falacies in the story is that Lewis appointed 2 lawyers in Bermuda as proxies to make decisions on Spurs on his behalf last year.

So minimal chance of Lewis making a phone call

I understand the speculation that this may be coming from yanited, but I don't see how it benefits them.

If Lewis really has told Levy to sell Kane if he doesn't agree a contract this summer, then Levy's position fairly clearly is that he will sell overseas and not to a PL rival.

Bayern are not going to pay 100 million or so to sign a player on a one-year rental before selling him on to yanited. And Levy would seek to insert a clause to prevent an early sale back to the PL.

If Kane is sold overseas this summer, then yanited will not be signing him until he's 33-34 years old at the earliest. By which age, he'd probably come back to the famous Spurs, if we still had a role for him.

Still not a single defender signed. What an utter joke. How hard is it to buy a fairly decent CB ffs?

Pathetic.

Most glarring flaw in our team and have we addressed it? Have we fuck! Get the bald shit out of this club.
You're right! It is really easy to buy a fairly decent CB. If only you were in charge, we'd have 4 of them by now, but we have some bald cunt that's clueless about how transfers work and has us all on pins and needles.

Conjecture based on 20+ years of watching Levy and his merry men pull us down to their level...

Please remind us what "level" we were at before they arrived to "pull us down to their level"?

plus another 40 years of support so please don't patronise me....

Funny; cos I distinctly remember you saying you'd taken 10-20 (maybe more?) "years off".... Before eventually starting to follow Spurs again around the same time that you joined TFC. (Perhaps this is why you find yourself making ignorant statements such as the one above?)

Post bollocks >>> Get patronised.

Seems fair enough really.

I think it's getting to the stage we say - okay Bayern you've a few weeks to get to the £100M

we go and get Tapsoba, VDV and Ramos at Benfica to replace Kane and we hope for the best.

3 weeks out from the start of the season.

*Highly rated goalkeeper that Inter wanted to replace Onana.
*Solomon on a free, PL ready and looks promising.
*Madison, the 2nd best AM in the PL for the last two years. Excellent.
*No CBs yet, but plenty of time in the window.
*No offers for our deadwood yet, but plenty of time in the window.

Glass half full.

Nailed on.

As it stands we are only 1 good CB away from starting a very good starting XI. Tapsoba for me 100%.

Vicario, Porro, Romero, Tapsoba, Udogie, Bissouma, Lo Celso, Maddison, Kulusevski, Kane, Son.

3 signings needed, 4 if Harry goes but ultimately we are just 1 good signing short of having a very good looking starting XI with many good options from the bench (Royal, Perisic, Ndombele, Solomon, Richarlison etc). We ain't in bad shape at all given where we were a year ago.
