Kolo-Muani is a massive downgrade on Kane, but then almost every striker in the world is. He’s got some traits that could work in the way we want to play, though. Likes to play on the shoulder and get on the end of things, but can also drop off and play others in.

Can't replace Kane like for like with any player in the world. Benzema was the only one.

Thing is, Ange played a system that didn't use a #9 like that in his previous clubs.

whatever we do after, needs to be the right thing for where the team is going, not trying to hang on to what we were.

He also didn't look good in Barcelona's system. He's just not a good defender.
The one time i saw him prior to coming here was France v Switzerland at Euro 21 when he gave one of the worst defensive displays i've ever seen. Think he was taken off at half time. Its one thing buying a player and they turn out not to be good enough, it happens. Its quite another buying or even being interested in a player you know first hand isnt good enough. Just really weird he keeps being linked. We should be happy with ourselves it was just a loan.

Why buy Muani for such a big fee honestly. Don’t get that. Let Richy be the pressing 9 and go get a potential superstar wing forward instead.

Kolo Muani is just.. meh. He’s good of course but the CF market is broken. Neither him or Hojlund are even close to special. Both quoted for £70m. Silly.

I happened to watch all of our games last season - he didn't look good in Conte's system - none of our players offered any defensive stability last season and there were numerous reasons for that. From how deep we were being asked to play, to our lack of consistent press to us being constantly overrun in midfield.

I think we both agree, however it is a transfer that is unlikely to happen

The "But Conte" excuse is getting a bit lame now. Davies looked more stable than Lenglet for god sake.

He was dumped by Barca and they can't wait to get rid. Nobody else is in for him either. And then he was poor on loan for us.

He's not a good option, no matter how many green bars show up on the stats comparison because he can distribute well. He doesn't improve us defensively and I can only imagine he'd be even worse in a 4 at the back setup.

Would be fine with getting a superstar wing forward.

But which one?

LWF doesn't make sense as we have Son and Solomon.

RWF does but Diaby was maybe the best of the ones on the market that we could get.

Muani isn't meh and he's much further ahead in development than Hojlund. Also plays RWF well because he can beat people 1v1 and creates chances.

And yet we were in the top 4 and fairly comfortably so. If not for a poor penalty decision in injury time, instead of being sacked, we'd have had the international break sat in 3rd place, closer to 2nd than 5th
