Fair to say that Tapsoba is a very highly rated defender to be fair, with huge upside potential. VDV is just potential.

Fair point. He was superb, world class for a while but bookended by about ten years of mid average PL/championship performances. Not knocking his peak as he really was superb for about 18 months

A club like Tottenham, with the amount of money we have, should have no issues purchasing both him and Tapsoba.
It beggars belief, how poorly this club conducts itself, trying to be a big club that wanted to join the ESL, but acts like a league one club.

That depends if you watch German football or not. VDV in my opinion offers more than Tapsoba. He’s much quicker,more athletic,taller,can play more than one position,better on the ball,left footed and is younger. Every game I’ve seen him apart from one and he’s cruised it. Tapsoba is also excellent but from what I’ve seen I liked VDV better.

This is exactly it.

Man will only do a deal for ego.

Even when people claim he spent big on Tanguy, it was about winning the battle with the Lyon owner and he felt he'd already "beat him" on the Lloris deal.

Richy was the same because Everton needed the money for "FFP". Even if that was BS it appealed to his ego because that's the gotcha moment he's been waiting for with every other club.
