There has to be people in the club that can see how bad it is?

They can't all be deluded and thinking that Davies as a makeshift LCB is good enough to start the season?
There are plenty, no doubt, with Crystal clear vision.

However, they know crossing Mr Levy is fraught with P45 outcomes?

Know we agree on this, so just reiterating, how can we be this Club, this summer, after the chants and overt disgruntlement? With Saudi being a financial safety valve to all comers, we sit on the sidelines making our new head coach say “It’s tough signing players” within a month of taking over.

Even if Saudi don’t buy our players, the money will filter through to teams who will likely want several, again if Levy is not asking 25-50% above market for our players, it should be the lowest gamble to sign one top target CB now, staggers the mind the way we do things.

Our owners act like small fry, where team structure being in place at seasons start has never mattered, and the logical outcome of that attitude is we never quite sign the best players and we never quite win.

Oh for fuck’s sake.

Kessie wouldn’t be a bad replacement for Hojbjerg tbf… but I would seriously fear for our midfield depth with Sarr/Kessie/Bissouma during AFCON time.

Skipp and Harvey White for 5 straight matches?

Skipp, Bentancur, Maddison, still a very decent midfield.
Should have Bentanur back by then, hopefully.
No guarantee that Benta is actually going to be playing at a high level by December, these injuries take a while to ramp back up.

Plus that’s the winter, aka the busiest fixture list of the entire season. i.e. 6 matches in 18 days.

I’m no expert but missing 3 key midfielders during that time seems very bad imo.

Having enjoyed a stellar time with AC Milan, winning the Scudetto in the 2021/22 season, the 26-year-old opted to join Barcelona as a free agent last summer after running his contract down with the Rossoneri.

However, the switch hasn’t panned out for the Ivory Coast international as he struggled to find regular game-time under Xavi Hernandez last term
