Best teams always build from the back, look at how much money City have spent on defenders under Pep.

To expect us to have to score at least 2 or maybe 3 goals per game in order to get anything out of it, is only going to end in disaster. Heck if Kane leaves and isn't replaced we might struggle to get one per game!

It's the usual shit from the decision makers at our club, I'm sure Ange is fuming behind the scenes.

When we played them two months ago we started Lenglet and Sanchez as a CB pairing with Forster in goal, can't really be anywhere near as bad.
Until we get a good CB in to play alongside Romero, especially when playing a high defensive line, and fullbalcks that arsen't renowned for their defensive play, it's going to be like being on a rollercoaster ride for me when watching.

You’ve been Levy’d. After 23 years of being billed as plucky little Spurs, the frugal tactics have rubbed off. Now and again, just pay what is needed to secure a top player in a position we are desperate. What is extraordinary money? 50M? 60m? Pay it
Nah. I've always been that way.

It's more down to the Bergwijn, Sissoko, Ndombele, Sanchez, Soldado, Rebrov, Richarlison, Bentley, Paulinho etc. etc.

What Levy IS accountable for however, is the complete shambles of our recruitment "team"

Still a huge upgrade over last year’s matches where supporters did their best not to fall asleep

Is there any good news or anything to look forward to ffs
It stopped raining here for about 30 minutes this morning

Don't forget

Vertonghen, Walker, Dembele, Van Der Vaart, Berbatov, Modric, Bale, Sando, Rose, Eriksen, Alderwierld, Lamela, Wanyama, Alli, Bentencur

in the last 5 years

our net spend = 508m
Woolwich net spend = 690m

in the last 10 years

our net spend = 539m
Woolwich net spend = 969m
It’s not just the spending though. It’s the way in which they’ve spent their money in comparison to ours.

And I’m not just talking about how poor our scouting/recruitment has been etc. I’m talking about how Woolwich have backed Arteta to the hilt with top quality players in key positions on the football pitch.
Consistent 30,40,60, 100(!) million pound players over the last few years that have bolstered their team and squad to make them challengers.

They finished second last season and they have gone out and signed a 60 million attacker, a 100 million midfielder and a 40 million defender, and are looking at potentially signing a 40 million goalkeeper. That is backing and ambition that our owners have never shown and will never show.

And despite that moron that you replied to trying to spin it that any Spurs fan who raises this point is “praising Woolwich to put down Spurs” or any such nonsense, it couldn’t be further than the truth. It sickens me to my core that Woolwich have got it together so well and are now operating on a totally different level to us for no other reason that their owners have woken up and realised they could be on to something, and it should be pointed out at every opportunity that this is the case.
There is absolutely no reason that if Woolwich can compete at the top end of the market we can’t too.

They’ll always be a few good signings but the vast majority of signings under Levy & ENIC have been duds. 6 of the players you’ve listed saw what direction we were going in & moved onto bigger & better things
