There is absolutely no reason that if Woolwich can compete at the top end of the market we can’t too.
..
Absolutely nailed it

And before the usual apologists start with the " yeah yeah but they got champions league football blah blah blah"
Last summer when the boot was on the other foot they STILL fucking out spent us and put our pathetic lack of ambition to shame.

Every Spurs fan should be furious with how the tables have been turned. Not trying to find some pitiful, weak minded justification.

Excels at Tackles and Blocks you say????

Excels at Tackles and Blocks you say????
I mean a lot of that is just the fact that Forest were a shockingly poor side who never had the ball, in the toughest league in the world by far.

But it does show that he does a whole lot of fuck all for most of the time he's on the pitch.

Which is kind of what I thought of him when I watched him. He's good, he would surely improve in a better side, but for 45 or 50m or whatever the fee will be, we should be doing a lot better.

Can you show me how he compares using the circle graph?

From wiki he played 140 games for us. 15% is 21 - I think 21 games where he wasn’t garbage is a fair possibly generous assessment.
His contribution wasn’t huge to the CL run, he definitely played his part and he definitely made a difference when he came on against Ajax in the first leg and in the second leg his elevated punt was crucial.
People had made up their minds before he played for us for sure but he did nothing to challenge the perception. He was a massive flop. 30mill and offered so little. Do you remember that he couldn’t score, a few bursts of pace and then a pass backwards or to the opposition. Rose tinted spectacles.

He played an important role vs Bara in the 1-1 draw too.

He was voted POTY by the Spurs Legends that season, whose opinion I hold in a lot higher esteem than yours!

Me and N5 Spur N5 Spur was taking about him a few months ago in the players to keep an eye on thread.
Indeed, Starks Starks .

One excellent season for Gent. 17 goals, 16 games. I think the point we were making at the time is that we are never going to get a striker who is top table so do we take a risk with an affordable (£30-40m ?) up and coming like Orban instead (or as well as) someone who has is known but will be in the £60m plus range (e.g Richarlison)?

Personally, I think Kane will be gone within the next month so I think we need to pull our finger our, unless we are sticking with Richarlison. However, he won't be hanging around for too much longer if he doesn't become our front line striker should Kane leave - no matter what he hasn't done for us so far, he's Brazil's number 9 - he won't wait.

I really think he might be going to Bayern out of respect for the fans and club. Perhaps he doesn’t want to play against us?
Yeah it’s a decent way to look at it and not beyond the realms of possibility. Admittedly it’s a best fit solution all round.

although the ‘bumper’ contract he signs next year could be with us?

That would have to assume we’re challenging again and admittedly we look anything but doing that.

Who exactly were they competing with for Havertz?

If we threw silly money at a club for their reject i don't think we would have much competition either

It will take courage to go with Orban and Richy but that’s literally the motto of the club.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we are holding on for the Kane money to go for our preferred CBs.
guehi is the one I think would be 1st choice.
Him and Tosin for CBs Gallagher for cm and I would prefer a right sided wide forward rather than an out and out replacement for Kane.
Obviously we would be weaker up front without Kane but Son/Richy can do a good job in APs system as a CF and we would be stronger in Defence and midfield
