Saying you will sign it if a move doesn't happen, isn't a commitment to the club (yet), it's a political play.
If he stays true to this (if it's even true) and did sign before the end of the transfer window, that would also be a commitment to the club.

OK but I made a typo in my other post, which I corrected - I actually don't think Kane will stay, but IF he does I think he will sign an extension.
Problem for Levy and his style of negotiation is that any CB signing looks like he's already agreed to sell Kane or needs the Kane money to pay for it.
All he needed to do was get one of them done before the tour like his new manager asked.
More like pressure on Levy, he doesn't get the deal done he walks away for free to any club he wants.
Whilst some would argue, we don't need 85 million the lack of transfer activity suggests that we do.
