Well, I’ve been pretty vocal about him not being my favorite but I’ll be eating crow now…

Hope Ledley can spend some extra hours with him on the training ground to work on his aerial ability. He does have a lot of potential, even I won’t deny that. He really needs to become more aggressive and commanding though; for those who haven’t seen him he’s definitely still quite raw.

I thought you brought up some good points and raised a lot of potential red flags.

No one should expect VdV to step in and be a finished product.

Porro had a release clause
Romero was on loan to Atalanta from Juve and had some specific contract situation where they could sign him but had a release clause after
Hojberg was 12m as he was last year of his contract.

Always distressed assets
Jesus, mate. What does it matter if they are or not?
The idea is that you put out the best team available for the money that you have.
Juventus had a habit of signing free agents to augment their team when they were one of the top sides in Europe. Barca are using the same tactics now and won La Liga. The idea that you have to overpay for everything is outdated and stupid.

Agree, and he’s young enough to learn this kind of thing.

Fingers crossed he’s got the ability to. 😊

What if we gave them the gazza strip?

I'd be over the moon if we just signed Gvardiol.

Bale was a record and won Real x2 CLs.

Haaland cost City way over 100m including agent fees and hidden costs

Ronaldo was great for Juve

Van Dijk won everything with Liverpool

Suarez was great for Barca

Lukaku first move to Inter was titles

Alisson for Liverpool
How come you didn’t mention Pepe? Or Sancho? Or Coutinho at Barca?
I would argue that Juve declined with Ronaldo even though he stat-padded.

As I said, neither Ndombele nor Lo Celso are fit for purpose - so in effect ZERO creativity as last season. Hence a necessity to recruit (along with a GK and CB's) and I am pleased to see Maddison along with Vicario.

Whether Lo Celso can be rehabilitated seems to be a question, and if he is he would likely be a back up. But of he is he's likely to be off within a year as I don't see a contract renewal coming his way.
But I never said that the AM never needed an upgrade, I never siad that we didn't need to get Maddison.

I just said they were not as important as two decent CB's coming in, as we already had players in AM. Bentancur, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Kulu (IMO, Devine (very promising), and now Maddison.

Forwards we currently have Son, Kane, Richy, Solomon, Kulu, Gil.

We have a team full of attacking players, but our biggest problem is in Defence, not the lack of a creative midfielder.

Why is this simple concept so hard for you to understand.

Yes, Maddison is a great buy, but x2 quality CB's is massively important for us this season, especially with highline under Ange,
