The centre-back is not sure about going there and prioritises a move to Tottenham, with whom he has already reached a pre-agreement for three seasons. Barça want a fee of 15 million euros, which the Arabian club is willing to pay, but the Spurs aren't.

He's just twenty eight, is better than Sanchez and Dier.

For that money we should buy him, and ship out one (or both) of the other two.

The Musiala one is basically the exact same issue that he shows in the U21 match

I don't think they're too similar at all outside of the goals coming from an individual run.

The Netherlands one is a lot worse, he pretty much fails to engage. But there's no chance I'd be putting all the blame on van de Ven for the Musiala one.

Musiala picks the ball up on the right wing and still manages to get through about 4 challenges before it even comes to van de Ven. That's a system issue and I'd be fuming if the goal happened against Spurs at all this season and van de Ven would be the last person I'd blamed for it. He's weak in the tackle for the goal, looks like he moves out of the way almost (Until you realise Musiala simply deceives him with his footwork)

Tapsoba has also made some errors that alarm me too. But he’s a lot less clumsy in tight spaces and he is better on the ball, better tackler, better in the air, his qualities make up for it. VdV is really good at chasing players and that’s about it for now.

I think van de Ven's aesthetic makes him look a lot clumsier than he is, he certainly has a unique way about him in terms of how he moves and perhaps lacks the aggression that Tapsoba does but I don't think he's particularly clumsy in a way that say, Davinson Sanchez is.

I saw a video posted on Twitter earlier blasting van de Ven in his pre-season game yesterday because of the way he looked in how he defended. Yet the attacker went absolutely nowhere and Wolfsburg ended up winning the ball back because of it.

The only issue I truly have with van de Ven is that he tends to show his back to the defender more than I'd like. Though I also thought the same of Jan Vertonghen, but Jan used his intelligence to read it, van de Ven seems to use his pace to get him out of any trouble

I was fine with spending nearly €50m on Romero because he had won Serie A defender of the season, had Argentinian NT pedigree, was a truly gifted ball carrier, etc.

Comparing Van de Ven to Romero in 2021 is hardly a comparison, and that my point, if we’re paying £40m we better be damn sure this guy is the one, like we were for Romero.

It's not my money, so I can't say I really care too much on what we spend on a centre back.

I'll always back any signing that comes here. And I'll base my opinion on him as a Spurs player and from what he does in a Spurs shirt.

Keep the goalposts still FFS..... You brought up Russia...... The differing degree (grey) lie in the false equivalence that YOU drew to begin with!
Because HE mentioned in the past that we shouldn't be doing business with Russia, so how can a club taking taking moral stand consult someone who is CURRENTLY banned by FIFA for fraud?

Add the folowing:

Hojberg 25m ish
Davinson 10m ish
Tanguy 10m ish
Rodon 10m ish
Reguillon 10m ish
Tanganga 10 ism

75m + whatever was in the budget already.

Not to be picky but we're not getting 10m each for Tanganga & Rodon....... They're champo or SPL-bound at best.... I'd reluctantly accept 5m for Reg & Tanguy too....... Just free up the wages and look to the future.

That list would still be enough to pay for Tappy.

Smart bit of business.

Out for a year due to ACL.

Played 45 mins for u21's at back end of last season and 2 sub appearances in PL totalling about 30 mins.

So pretty high risk signing who has not played enough since he came back to show what condition he's really in - Spurs bought Sessegnon without seeing him play after his injury...... and that was a huge mistake.

If I were Newcastle I'd insist a LOT of that fee was in add oms payable after 50 and 100 games etc to minimise the risk,

Reguillong has interest from Spain and will get a buyer. He has Spain caps and is young.

If you have a passing knowledge of Spanish football, you know he will have offers, it will be about him accepting them.

Tanganga, who knows...

Maybe Sheff UTD or Luton?

Who is the interest in Spain for Reguillon from not seen that one? If he was that highly sort after why did nobody snap him up last summer?

VDV on his own looks a good signing but no established international will see a 22 year old kid as showing them the club mean business.

No way Levy is spending enough to show Kane the club is ambitious, without having the money from selling him.

Just the way it is.

Why should the club spend what Kane thinks that the "club means business" if he fucks off on a free transfer next season?

Kane's future has already been decided whoever we sign. He gone.

Forget about him and this squad, Ange has intimated that he is happy with Richy in his formation and tactics.
