Absolutely no chance we score as many goals. 70 goals last season in the league. Kane scored 42% of those.
Son was dogshit for about two thirds of the season. Kulu was dogshit for the whole season. Richarlison got more bookings for celebrating goals than actual goals. Solomon and Veliz is a kid,

For reference
City 94 goals of which 38% scored by Haaland. Haaland who was an upgrade on any of their forwards in prior seasons.
Arse - 88 goals of which 17% were scored by Martinelli.

We are/were heavily reliant on Kane to not only score our goals, but make them too.
Take that out and we, even with a totally different style of play and formation, will score less goals. We're bringing in punts. not guaranteed goals.

If we weren't so astonishingly unreliable a the back I would take that punt for a year. Batten down the hatches, stop shipping goals and hope the new forwards can step up. But as it is, the most touches they'll get is kicking off a few times a game.

This post went down well 🤣

Doesn't have to be all spent in this window though, I reckon when Kane Goes we might see another CB now and then reassess the squad next few months and make some moves in January.
We just need to be patient as fans, and just get behind the new manager, I honestly believe if he is backed and we stick it out with him we will win something of note!

Seems pretty obvious they will go after Wahi or Orban depending on the prices quoted.

Three of those deals are still pending though.

Also, it is definitely a squad refresh but 2 of those players aren't for the first team at least not straightaway.

So yes, we do need more although imagine we'll now need to shift out quite a few.

I don't think we've done anything that will have anyone worried about us.

Maybe you did, but I didn't start the window expecting 6 new first XI players.

As for refresh; whilst we have way too much deadwood, in the last 18 months; we've also added Bentancur, Kulu, Porro, Udogie, Bissouma. Richy, Spence, Perisic, Forster. The first 5 of which will be in our best XI.

Vic
Porro
/ Romero / VDV / Udogie
Biss
Maddison / Bentancur
Kulu /
Kane (?) / Son
......That's 7 new starters in 18 months.

It looks like great business no one can deny that, however if we Sell Kane now and no new additions come in then thats a bit cheeky from Levy
It's not really. No one can argue that another quality CB is not needed, but we have a very promising core of players with plenty of upside in a year when we will be playing one game a week. So plenty of time for them to improve. Plus we need to get rid of the deadwood. Even if we stop here, I think we're good for next season. Depending on where we finish and what gaps still exist, we can address them next year when we will likely be a more appealing prospect for some of the bigger name players.

I wonder how German football fans and Bayern fans and the German media feel about Kane becoming the German's darling club best and highest payed player as England captain, whilst also being supplied by an English kid in Musiala.

Add in that both men's and women's teams were knocked out of the World Cup in the group stages and you have to say it's in a sorry state.

This is what you get from a one team league where other clubs within that league are willing to bend over for a single club.

They still seem off the pace in terms of winning CL. If Kane gets them that then Germany will be bowing to England's captain. Touché.

Harry had 0.1 expected assists per 90 minutes last season, Lo Celso had 0.25 expected assists per 90 minutes. Kane played a fuckton more minutes.

Lo Celso has never sustained those kind of expected numbers over a season and never will.

Kane was the most creative player in our squad and his xA was up there with some of the leagues creative mids.

If it is truly €100m guaranteed, PLUS add-ons that would take it into the €110-120m range (£86m base with £15m in add-ons)…

He’s got to be gone. Levy must take that.

If it is, on the other hand, only €100m total including the add-ons (I.e., maybe €88m guaranteed with €12m in add-ons)… I think Levy tells Bayern to go get fucked.

Those are two very different bids. And I have fuck all clue which one is the real offer.

I think Royal would get into our first XI plus Bentancur is out for ages so we need another midfielder and another forward or two should Kane go.

Some people are easily pleased.

A Club as rich as ours should be able to afford these additions without having to rely on the Kane money, its as simple as that really.

The argument may quickly turn to "we still need more", but we've done some smashing business this summer..... Close the day with getting Phillips over the line too (didn't he already do his medical?)......

Maddison - £40m
VDV - £35m
Vic - £17m
Vilez - £11-13m
Phillips - £2m
Solomon - FREE

That's good business as long as it's not connected to the Kane sale and ensuing money in.

Let's see if we can do something special with the Kane money which turns a good window into a very good window.

I'm beginning to get the impression that Levy has actually lost sight of footballing matters and is just using HK as a pawn to show everyone what a great businessman he is....the situation has gone several steps beyond ridiculous..
If he keeps H against his wishes, again, we won't see the best of him this season (imo)
And when he walks away next season, he'll join another PL club, on a free, possibly to cock a snook at Enic and especially Levy.
It's a very unhealthy situation and Levy is stirring sh!t and making it worse..I really despise that man!!!
