That's ridiculous, of course we do. We finished 8th last season for goodness sake, it's clear a lot of players aren't good enough.

I guess the one good thing is that Gabbanini was apparently involved in getting him to Watford and he seems to be in charge of our recruitment now.Joao Pedro was a sensational pick up for Watford, who subsequently went to Brighton. I was really hoping we would be considering him, and he would have suited the Ange playing style better than Veliz, but it is what it is. Hopefully Veliz turns out even better.
If Kane leaves, as is likely, Richarlison is expected to take his place in the team centrally. Tottenham also want to ensure they have a deal in place for a young forward to offer competition and are ready to step up their interest in Gift Orban, the 21-year-old Gent striker, in addition to signing Alejo Veliz, the 19-year-old Rosario Central striker.
Orban scored 20 goals in 22 games for Gent last season after joining the Belgian club in January. Spurs believe a deal can be agreed for around £20 million. Orban was playing for Stabaek in Norway’s second tier last year before joining Gent for £3 million, going on to play against West Ham United in the Europa League Conference league quarter-finals. He scored five goals in the European competition.
Tottenham have struck a deal to sign Veliz for £13 million plus add-ons but have been discussing whether he stays on loan at Rosario until January.
I like Orban, but then I remember thinking Patson Daka looked sensational at RB Salzburg and he did OK at Leicester. It's such a punt finding a striker that thrives in the PL. Joao Pedro for Brighton was a sensational pick up I reckon.
Can orban play wing? Our strategy confuses me, one of orban or veliz will get hardly any gametime
If Kane is going, and we're getting Orban, we need at least one PL-ready style signing IMO. Either Tapsoba, or 40m-50m on a really elite wide man who can break a tight set defence. With Richarlison and Son around, it honestly just makes sense long term to pursue a couple highly rated young strikers (Veliz and Orban) in addition to what we have in the academy. One (maybe more) of them will rise above the competition over time. They’d need to get in another prem ready WF though for the current squad.
True, but 6/7 new players in the 1st 11 is a lot and will take a long time to bed down. Squad is also already full - we have Sarr Skipp Hoj Maddison Lo Celso and Bissouma for 3 positions at the mo. When Hoj leaves, we will still have 6 players including Bentancur. We should be replacing an extra CH (Dier) and adding a forward if Kane goes but we're already doing a lot of change.I think Royal would get into our first XI plus Bentancur is out for ages so we need another midfielder and another forward or two should Kane go.
Some people are easily pleased.
Don't forget the fax machineIf I was Levy, I'd switch my phone off for the day now.

Orban is the Son replacement in my opinion, not the Kane one. A pacy scorer but not a true #9.Can orban play wing? Our strategy confuses me, one of orban or veliz will get hardly any gametime
If we're aiming to do something "special" with the Kane money (and by special; I assume you mean a marquee attacker with the bulk of the cash?) then we may be better off waiting til we can offer Europe again and have a bit more appeal.
If Kane and Hojberg go but we end up with:
Orban
Veliz
Olise
Scott
Van de Ven
That is a serious investment in the future.
Would need an older head as well at CB imo. Tosin as another HG option would make sense and is 25 so a decent age to play now.

He can play a wing forward role, and while he does play CF, you wouldn't want him battling CBs for headers and doing all the dirty work of a #9.
I don't love his profile though, he's basically elite at running and finishing, but is far from a polished dribbler and definitely not a true winger. We really need our answer to the Mbappes, Kvartshelias, Sakas, Salahs, Vinicius, etc. of the world, someone who strikes fear into defenses when they get the ball on the wing. Orban is NOT that.

Orban is NOT that, but he is a hell of a speedster and very good technically, so has Son-like potential imo.

Nope.
Coz he's just not that big and does all of his best work with space in front of him, plus he doesn't even play in the CF position most of the time. I'm not saying he can't dribble like, he obviously can, but when you watch him play nothing that says PL #9 jumps out, he plays like a second striker or a wing forward.Mate, I'm not sure anyone knows what Orban is yet. Not even Orban himself.
You say he can't dribble or can't do the dirty work but you are basing that off what other people have said? Unless you have watched the Belgian league, then in which case fair enough.
But even then, he's been a professional footballer for less than 18 months. Clearly has a ceiling as anything he wants to be....
Remember this kid didn't go to an academy anywhere, basically nobody taught him or coached him anything.
