'Plans won't change dramatically'

Brentford v Tottenham (Sun, 14:00 BST)

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou on Harry Kane: "We've been planning for this, it's fair to say, for a while.
"It doesn't take too much investigative work to realise this was going to happen. A lot of our business so far has been with this in mind. It doesn't change my plans dramatically.
"There's still movement in the squad and it's a big squad with players we need to move out. There are three or so weeks to go in the window.
"I had a conversation with Harry [Kane] on day one and we were both up front. I got an indication there that if both clubs agreed he would go.
"My preference was that it would be sorted before the first game. These things don't happen in isolation and everyone is clued up. I haven't received any news from anyone about Harry's decision changing."

I mean he did say that…

Looks to me like there won’t be huge incomings or us going out spending the £100m we get for Kane on a CB & striker. Think we will get a back up CB and a young striker with potential to be the Richarlison back up. Doesn’t fill me with great hope if I’m honest.

I read that as the current plans in place.

So if our plan was to get two or three in. Who weren't necessary Kane replacements, that isn't going to change just because Kane is gone.

So another centre back, likely s young forward and another somewhere.

Yeh, I can read thx.

Show me the part where he mentioned money

No it isn't.

Look.... IF what you're GUESSING proves to be right, gloat then.

Until then stop with the gymnastics.
It's not guessing, at this point its way beyond guessing. It's instinct and 20 years of this ownership doing the same stuff

I hope you rouse yourself from your slumber one day

Yeh, I already read that... He made no mention of money.

He also said earlier this week there were 2 or 3 more players he wanted to buy.

That's a whole heap of money on what's basically a gamble.

I don't rate him as highly as others, but id rather spent that on Tapsoba. Who's atleast proven at a higher level and has more experience.

I don't think another top top class centre back is on the cards anyway. I think Poch is happy with van de Ven and sees him as a future star.

Considering we knew Kane was going to go and we were still being linked with Schuurs. I imagine it'll still be him, if we are still going to sign players. No real issue with that based on what I've read.
Poch?

Then spend the non-Kane money.

You know, all that money generated annually by one of the world's richest clubs.
I hope that's the case. But this is a club who so obviously needed an AM for the past couple years, and new CBs for about 4/5. They've finally moved on those things, which is great. But it doesn't exactly fill me with confidence that they're about to spend the money and bring in a bonafide striker, another CB or much else.

Let me be entirely clear. I hope I'm wrong and have no idea what I'm talking about.

Could possibly see another 100 spent if Hojberg & Sanchez bring in another 40 or so.

Would leave 260 or so spent including Porro & Kulu.

150 sold.

110 net excluding the Kane add ons.

Think we would see an overall salary reduction as well if we can clear some out.

I don't include Porro and Kulu but if you did, what you describe is Levy net spending 200m in one window.

Never happening

That sounds about right, but mate you accidentally have the picture of the Chelsea gaffer as your avatar.

Several internet accounts have posted its 60m +. How true that is, who knows.

But whatever it is, its likely to be out of line with his real value hence Bayern and ManU shopping elsewhere - and both clubs could pay up if they wished to

Well as little as this place means, he was expected to be near the upper 40m/50m mark.... If he is truly considered to be a difference maker then we should just bite the bullet on the extra 10m..... Why? Cos we just spent a month squeezing BM for extra dosh on the Kane deal so ought to make that effort (and little extra cash) mean something.

Realistically I can only see Orban come in before the window ends.

It'll be a deadline day deal because Levy wants to drive the price down.

I would like Olise or a tricky winger that can play both sides. Unless through pure luck, Gil comes back from injury and offers something before the January window.

Don't see us getting another CB.
Sanchez will go leaving us with Davies, Dier, Romero, VDV and Phillips.
Tanganga on loan somewhere, hopefully Dorrington too.

Next summer: Davies and Dier leave, make a decision on Tanganga. Promote Dorrington to first team and bid for Tapsoba again.

So every other club can spend money and not worry about outgoings. But Spurs a club that charges one of the highest ticket prices in the league cannot spend to actually be better.

That's not remotely true.

- Man U were sailing very close to the wind this summer.
- Everyone knows the Chavs were in a big mess until they had their ass saved by a load of sales to Saudi & Man and yet STILL haven't wrapped up their main target for the summer.
- Liverpool have been very coy with their money (again!) and have been helped massively by a couple of unexpected Saudi deals.

That's before you look at the rest of the league.

Meanwhile, we got 6 players signed despite out dead-wood situ.

#OnlySpurs routinely proves to be bollocks as it has in this instance.

Why not, we clearly want one and have the money.
