Height I don’t think is a big deal, but you definitely need real core strength and strong legs and hips in the premier league. Really not convinced by Orban in that regard, has he really got enough presence to withstand pressure back to goal and on the turn? not convinced he does and don’t think it’s something that just comes with time. He’s 21, how much more development on the physical side can you expect. if he had elite pace I could see the appeal but it looks like pace is just okay compared to other PL players.

30 mil seems like a massive massive risk to me. Think there’s smarter ways to spend that money

£30m was a risk 10 years ago, that fee is standard in today's world especially as the CF market is as dense as it is right now.

Why? Just as an example, okay everyone knows, we're looking to move Sanchez on...if circumstances allow it. Take away his number 6, you're SCREAMING to the world that we've lost ALL faith in him, that we100% want a replacement instead of him, and we'll get our pants pulled down by interested clubs.

Isn't us accepting a bid and him turning it down telling everyone he's for sale? It's not like nobody will know

I mean it makes sense to hire a manager who doesn't need to spend fortunes as that is not what we do...That's why the Mourinho and Conte appointments were so strange. Buying good young players and bringing others through the academy is a much better fit for how we are run.

Also, any manager will give the 'deadwood' a go when they come to a new club, that doesn't mean they cannot quickly identify if they are wanted or not. GLC and Perisic seem to have a future here and maybe even Davidson. Dier, Tanguy and Spence on the other hand have been deemed surplus to requirements.
There's a difference between a manager who doesn't need to spend a fortune, and a manager who says they don't need to spend a fortune.

Ange showing he's happy enough with the window so far with 4 players making their debut starts - Vicario, Van de Ven and Maddison bought in this window, Udogie bought last summer and making his debut today.

Just to put that into context its almost 20 years since Spurs have given 4 debuts in one match - and I'm not sure we've ever given 5 debuts in one match.

Ange has hinted that he's hoping for a couple more recruits, and with almost 3 weeks left before window closes that's highly possible.

Very much so common sense, but I did note this line from him:

"you don't need to always spend at that top end"

While you don't always need to - fuck the Chavs and their strategy as an aside - you do or at least might need to some of the time. The big question mark now that Levy has gotten a manager in, who speaks common sense and isn't banging on his door to spend, spend, spend.....has Levy learned anything?

Has he learned after not backing Poch at the right time? Common sense is all fine and good, but if we build towards something this season, and Ange knocks on Levy's door next summer and tells that there's this one player, or two players, beyond what we normally spend that would transform the team, will he listen?
I think in Ange we may have a straight talker without the histrionics of a Contrihno.

Not interested in what Levy will or will not do, in fact I'm sick to the back teeth of his name being dredged up at every opportunity. My comments were about Ange and how I'm warming to him so I don't want to hear anymore about Levy until my entry for the next dwarf throwing competition has been accepted.

FWIW if the unmentionable listens but doesn't act upon it then I believe Ange is the type of person to tell him to do one, although I can't envisage us not being able to finance any of AP's future targets with the type of outlook he has. If anything we have been guilty overspending on dogshit rather than not willing to fork out thereby supporting the notion it's not how much you spend but how well you spend it.

We deffo need another CH, a pacy goal scoring winger and a midfielder. Personally I would also buy a striker and sell Richy, never the level needed for top 4.
I think a wide player who can dribble and beat their man either way at pace is the most needed having watched today. We got it out there often enough, but Son and Deki had limited impact despite getting a lot of the ball. Them cutting inside 8 times out of 10 and allowing the opposition defence to reset just won't work in this system.
