They're relegation fodder. There's no way he's a £60m striker.

Lester were actually relegated.... This AM we bought off them doesn't seem too shabby though.

Ditto Scott Parker,
Ditto Trippier
Ditto Andy Robertson
Ditto Wijnaldum

Some people want Lavia......
Some people think Livramento would have been a good purchase.

Okay, let's break this down.

Firstly, can we ask if he was he given a fair shake by Conte last season? He had sporadic appearances, mostly in his least effective position at RW. He played a couple of games as CF, and had no opportunity to build rhythm or relationships with team-mates.

Secondly, his goal record for Everton. Most of that time there he was playing wide off Calvert-Lewin, in a team that mostly never had the ball, or was a total shambles and set badly up to try and counter. If looked at that way, it's very respectable.

Now, he's had one game in a team adjusting to a new system, with new players, against a side sitting outrageously low and very disciplined. There'll be more space in other games for sure. And most importantly he just needs a few goals to get that confidence flowing. All strikers do, and only a tiny, tiny minority are like Kane and don't let a couple of goaless games not affect them.

Is he Kane? No. Long-term is he the striker we need? Most probably no too. Should we panic now and just buy one to replace Kane? Definitely no. He can definitely do well in this system, and we have to be absolutely sure about the striker we sign if we're spending big. I'm happy to wait rather than make a mistake.

Would any #9 end up looking like a budget Kane? Yes

Is there any value spending massive sums for a player in a role that averaged less than 20 touches per game for this manager in his last job? No

Are people thinking with their emotions and still hurt by Kane leaving? Yes

Are they still evaluating Richy in the context of a Conte system where the striker is like a God? Yes

I know Spence has a reported attitude problem and he’s apparently available due to our squad being bloated but if he leaves the surely we need another RB? Emerson will be our only recognised RB. Porro used to be a winger/wide forward who was converted into an attacking wing back. He’s certainly not a RB. We saw how key both Emerson and Udogie’s strength was when defending against Brentford. Good help us if we have to rely on Porro.

It's good to see the Richarlison Defence League is running strong.

I'd rather give him a run of games this season then panic buy a number 9 for 100 million on deadline day hoping they'll replace Kane, which will never happen anyway.
