It's also not Palace's job to decide on a fair value of what he's worth and then sell him to us at that price, they will come up with a fee that they want to get out of the transfer, and then add the 20% on to that as the fee to ensure that they get theirs.It's completely arbitrary.....
Should Brighton only have charged 8m for Caciedo? ........Should Southampton only have charge 20m for Lavia? etc.
The notion that this 20% sell on clause helps us as someone else suggested is nonsense, they won't charge less to avoid passing on less, they will want more to make sure they end up getting the amount that they want at the end of it all.
It looks like an impossible deal for so many reasons at this moment in time, and if it's true that we have gone to them and enquired then I'd say it reflects poorly on us, as it's blindingly obvious that it's not going to happen.
Unless of course Chelsea decide they want him too, then he'll be signed up to a contract until he's 50 in no time...
