without european football its a big ask to have a 50m cb a 40m cb and another over 40m. we should be nailing some recruitment for the backup and doing some actual competent scouting work. to be fair if the backup is sanchez and hes used sparingly, its nt the end of the world. just dont want him having the ball at his feet much.

Where possible we should be focussing any big fees on 1st XI, because if we bag Europe then next season we'll be in a better position to attract higher quality depth than we are right now.......... Young'ns like Veliz & Phillips accepted.

I think Ndombele was linked to Rennes as well.
We basically gave Dele away. If Tanguy hadn’t cost 54m he would be long gone. It’s as if Daniel cannot take a big loss on a transfer. Tanguy was signed on a 5 yr contract , therefore his value on the books diminishes approx 11m per year. As it stands he is worth 11m to us .
take 10m euros and call it quits.
FFS Daniel….get a grip.

That's not remotely true.......

There's been very little actual links to Lenglet; just a few propaganda noises coming from Barca's end.

We're still being mentioned... Literally today in this thread.
Where, exactly? I haven't seen one credible link to Tosin in about 3 weeks. People throwing his name around in a transfer thread on a fan forum isn't exactly what I'd call a "credible link" either.

yeh you're imagining it.

In reality we we were linked to Raya before the season ended and the first reports of Raya actually agreeing terms was the 11th June. Vicario signed on the 27th.

So we moved on once it was clear Brentford weren't going to budge?

Chelsea were linked with Olise three and a half weeks ago. Got rejected today and have moved on.

What exactly are you moaning about?

Other clubs are spending more money than us…

We need to spend according to our accounts; no-one else's.

.some of our ,only on players who were with us last season so technically don’t improve us that much now.

Bissouma & Udogie def. improve us compared to last year....... + 3 (Vic, Mad & VDV) more starters... That's essentially half a new starting XI + the effects of a new, hopefully more productive manager.

Absolutely. Did an Incredible, Fantastic job for us with his hands tied for 5 years. Such a shame we sacked him instead of backing him.
What's really strange is that there are still a few Spurs fans who admire and respect Daniel Levy

100%. Sadly still full of scumbags and people making villages under bridges but I doubt there's anywhere in the world where you can throw a stone in any direction and find good people and great food.

The Debussy preludes are one of the milestones of piano music....I applaud your choice, Oh Master....

What
What if we brought in VDV on the understanding that whilst ongoing team selection will be on merit, he would start immediately (which he has) and the place would be his to lose. Then you want to sign Tapsoba, even if he also expects to start, and potentially thereby piss VDV off only a couple of weeks after him joining? That would be a very stupid thing to do.

I don't know if that's the understanding VDV has, but it could be. You certainly don't know that it isn't. My point is that the above scenario is perfectly plausible, and makes signing Tapsoba now an unwise thing to do if it's true.
What if we didn't? If there's even the remote chance we can get Tapsoba for a sensible fee we do it. If you liked the way we looked last week , saw the massive upgrade VDV was over the stooges, keep in mind almost unanimously Germann football experts say Tapsob is ahead of VDV. Besides this is how we came unstuck, by allowing automatic starters. Competition for your place IS the key to success. No more sacred cows! No more Kane on one foot in ECL final No more Ledley on No knees.

are you OK?

chelsea got rejected today and moved on to their next target on the same day.

I realise you are still a bit annoyed that you got the Kane stuff spectacularly wrong and the additions of Gift Orban, the CB and the right sided forward in addition to Kane didn't materialise as you thought but quit trying to point score.

If you can't see or accept that we are slow in pulling the trigger in our signings then that's on you.
