A sell-on clause would probably be the best bet.....

- CP invest fully in his game-time on the basis of him being their player (rather than a loanee).
- We either opt for the additional pay-out if we decide to stick with Porro instead.
- Or if we decide to bring him back; the 'sell-on' clause acts and a reduced price buy-back by proxy anyway.
I think these are slightly overrated unless you're running a full on player farming operation like Chelsea. To get any kind of useful income stream from it you'd have to have lots of them coming in consistently, and frankly our academy production line of late would barely be yielding a trickle...

Say we had a 10% sell on and Palace sold for £40m, we get £4m, hardly game changing money for us.

The issue is players do not want to move as they are very well paid and living in London - a great place especially for players wives.

If the outgoing players were being sold to a club offering them higher wages, then players might be incentivised to move - but that's not the situation as admirably highlighted a few pages back. Few clubs want to buy our discards - Hojbjerg may be one of he few sales.

Most of players will be going to clubs where Spurs end up paying a good part of the player wages - Ndombele to Rennes might well be something like 2/3rds paid by Spurs only 1/3 by Rennes.

So if we get 20m for Hojbjerg we might well find the wages we need to pay in the upcoming season are bigger than the Hojbjerg fee we receive - so still costing us money over and above..

So fuck all to do with dithering about getting fees for players and 100% to do with trying to stop money pouring out in wages for unwanted players who nobody wants to buy.
That’s the case for all of them?

You sure?

I'm not talking about a broader attempt to establish an income stream; just addressing a predicament to minimise any loss and/or maximise the outcome from a player that suddenly it appears we don't have a use for,

We could ad 20% for example (CP were happy to do so for Eze)... There's nothing to say it couldn't be even higher still..... There are no rules per say.

eg:

15m +25% sell on >>>>>>> Eventually CP sell for 40m... We get 10m and Palace still double their money..... Or we can buy back at 30m and Palace are still doubling their outlay.

..........Or if he doesn't become a start; CP just end up with a RB worth roughly what they paid.

I'd say that would be agreeable to all parties.

My mistake; I thought:

A) We'd already made numerous "important" signings and six overall so far this window.
B) That you were primarily concerned about outgoings.... About which there was a flurry of noise yesterday.
C) That deadline day was actually 2 weeks away.
D) All clubs were allowed to use the whole window.
E) Levy-deadline day theory was statistically proven to be bollocks anyway.

Genuine concern.... But do you dream about this stufff at night? You seem to wake up with all this imaginary Levy-torture on your mind that you need to spill (every morning a new theory) and it's not usually til some-time after lunch that you get back to being to good poster that you otherwise are.

Cool story.

Still well on track for the deadwood to still be here and excuses to be made for another manager being left short.

Agreed but our front three weren't very good vs Brentford. IIRC Son and Richarlison had one shot on target each, can't recall Kulusevski even having one on target.

Perhaps the conclusion one should be taking is that the front 3 might need more than one game to click with a new system......? .............And that - with regards to a ST - it's hard to score if no chances are being created?

A one game, fan jury is foolishmess.

Could be wrong mate As you’ve obviously seen more than all of us but I see a lot of his highlights and goals and assists coming from the right wing?

Someone posted this a while back and he’s playing off the right here:
View: https://youtu.be/Nrn5lemB-3s

To be honest, I don't follow his team, so I don't know if they rotate their wings during matches. However, as I understand, he is a left wing - though it seems he's capable of playing both. I might be more inclined to get him if that's the case.

That’s the case for all of them?

Why do most people want to change jobs :

- More money
- to go to a better job (usually with more pay) ...... not applicable to most of our discards
- hate their immediate superior (in this case coach), it happens, but less than (1)
- Bored (can happen, not every player is interested in football)
- Want total change of job/retire ......... could be Ndombele ?
- Poor working conditions (unlikely given training ground and facilities - most players seem overwhelmed by them)
- Wife/GF/family hate location (might happen with overseas players wanting to 'go home' ....... question is whether they can afford to go home ie can local club afford their desired wage as earned at Spurs.

So yes, we can be reasonably confident on players motivation - they are only human

If Levy changes his ways and doesn’t leave his manager short in key areas, I’ll be more than happy to say I’m wrong.

So far this window, unfortunately, I’ve not been wrong as much as I’d like.

Whilst tucking into your sarnie; take the time to ponder the difference between truth and actuality vs torturing ones self-concocted horror stories.

Until X or Y happens; you're not right about anything. That's just how reality works.

You seem oblivious to the fact that business done so far this summer should buy enough patience to see how the remainder of the window unfolds... You can't handle that though..... The waiting is visibly difficult for you.

Yeah, part of me thinks “at least we have moved past Kane now”

Think it will be a tough season, but new heroes will come and we will recover. This TW has been poor as things stand though
Measured against our expectations it most certainly has been poor and, barring a few "go get the players that I want" posters, I think the expectations have been realistic in the main.

Having said all that, things can change in the next 2 weeks to, potentially, rescue the window somewhat. But at this point in time it hasn't been anywhere near what we want or need.
