Agree, I think nobody (including most fans) had really understood the amount of change needed in the squad after years (2016-19) - of poor investment.
Club thought with a top manager they would deal with squad issues and be able to move on a few players and add a few replacements - so minor surgery
Personally I'd have gone for a 'project' manager to deal with squad and bring through youngsters from academy (something missing since Kane and co came through) - and I think Ange fits into that category

Ange is couching it like it’s his decision, that having a bloated squad results in unhappy players, and no close-knit harmony that he’s trying to create. Who knows if that’s true?
As usual with this club, it’s all incredibly frustrating.
I'm no fan of Levy or ENIC, but the lengths some of you go to live in this world where he is purposely sabotaging the club is laughable. Turning Ange making a statement that he doesn't want incomings until the squad is trimmed, into "fucking ENIC and Levy sell Kane and we still have to sell before we can buy"? Maybe...just fucking maybe Ange is happy with the squad... and hold on to your seats - maybe he actually doesnt want to bring in anymore players without getting rid of a few... and this is crazy talk here, but stay with me... maybe Ange sees the team in practice everyday and knows more than fans on a fucking message board. Some of the lines spouted on here is borderline conspiracy level shit.

We have a squad of around 31-32. That is simply too many. You can argue that we've been too slow or too ineffective in moving players out. All the same it's not a very manageable squad. Just a fact.
For comparison Chelsea, who all poke fun of for just throwing fucking cash around and loading up on players have 29-30 in their squad.
Long story short, our squad is a fucking mess when it's worse than Chelsea's in pure numbers, and Ange's words make perfect sense. Hopefully he aims similar words at Levys and tells him to get going on outgoings.
Then he hasn't seen us play at all during the past 4 years.
There are plenty we need to get rid of and with no Kane, it's pretty obvious where we need strengthening as well.

I know I’m stating the obvious but it makes sense that the club is working hard to get the best offers possible for our outgoing / surplus players. I expect that the last few days of the window will be very busy and loan heavy.
