On Toney, he’s allowed to start training again in September so if he is our main target we should sign him now and have him fully up to speed with Ange Ball by the time he can play again in January.

I’ve had an epiphany, I don’t think we need Gift Orban or Furuhashi type profile. The last man runner in behind who gets 6 touches per half but one is a goal is not a good fit for the Premier League, especially with our wingers.

Bring me Ivan Toney. He makes our transitions god-like and strengthens our best asset - ball control. Give me a big fucker with excellent hold up play who allows us to keep the ball.

That’s the profile we’re looking for up top. Whether people realize it yet or not.

What about Toney like alternatives with those qualities? Must be a few options somewhere in Europe or further afield

Probably not the worst thing that Richy doesn't look great. It's far from ideal but underlines the fact we desperately need more players in. Whether that happens or not...

Good point.

There are so many strikers out there who can surely do a job for us, that combined with whatever Richarlison offers us, which will compensate for a lack of that top tier striker.

Left alone and as it is, we are seriously going to jeopardise our chances this season..

It's as reckless as it is negligent to not already have another striker.

Totally fcuks me off

He'd be great. Contract till 25 (ie 2 years) so given current market, and, loyalty Brentford showed him, I think you'd have to pay a silly money premium. Transfer market reckon 35m, I don't think Brentford pick up phone for any less than 70 land to be honest, fair play to them, we wouldn't in their shoes)
Agree on profile though. But I'd still prioritise a mitoma style LF first, and versatile CB as cover for VDV and Romero second. Unless someone like a vlahovic, toney, Ferguson deal became possible. (none of which I think would be without ~100m, which I woulddnt drop on any of them)

Yep. Ange has already shown glimpses of what he and this team could achieve this season. With no Europe and with another key addition, top 5 is not unrealistic. Hopefully even Levy can see that.

We need reinforcements, if we can't get fees for our cast-offs then send on loan or rip up contracts.

Can't we agree to a mutual termination of Hugo's contract? What sort of fees does Levy think we can get for an old keeper that is past his best?

We finished 8th last season, teams around us are spending money, we sold our best player a week ago and since then? Nothing, nada, sweet fuck all.

It's quite disturbing.
You don't "agree to a mutual termination" until the window is closed. While it's open you try to find other options. How stupid do you have to be to not understand that.

Disagree mate. Richarlison doesn’t score goals and Scarlett is way too raw. We 100% need a striker unless this Argentinian will get games, but according to Ange he’s still too young
They'll both score goals though once we feed them chances.

Richy had some half chances against Brentford but I can't think of one yesterday.

Give me a list of clear chances in these games that he's missed then I may be swayed but until then we need to accept that it's about how the role is played rather than the numbers.

I said it yesterday...I doubt Kane would have got on the score sheet yesterday.

Where I will concede is that Kane may have held up the ball better and that's fine. If we can improve on that then let's do it but bringing in someone based on goals isn't what we should be looking at.

I'm not sure we need other wide players with us already having Solomon on the bench, and GIl recovering from injury, another CB and a quality CF will do for me this window.

I don't know much about Orban other than his good scoring record with Gent last season that has been mentioned but if Ange wants him, let's just get him in, and perhaps Shuurs.

Would be a good window then.
