A lot of people want Toney and his can see why, I really rate him. My only issue really is the huge price tag for someone who is 27, I worry about how many years we would get out of him. That said I wouldn’t be disappointed if we signed him, in fact I’d be very excited. If he is a player we have targeted then get it done before January, financially it doesn’t make sense but him training with the side ASAP would be hugely beneficial.

I do feel we could do with a winger though, I’d happily drop £100m on Mitoma but I doubt Brighton sell.

Edit: I’m aware Mitoma is only a year younger but he improves our attack tenfold.

They'll both score goals though once we feed them chances.

Richy had some half chances against Brentford but I can't think of one yesterday.

Give me a list of clear chances in these games that he's missed then I may be swayed but until then we need to accept that it's about how the role is played rather than the numbers.

I said it yesterday...I doubt Kane would have got on the score sheet yesterday.

Where I will concede is that Kane may have held up the ball better and that's fine. If we can improve on that then let's do it but bringing in someone based on goals isn't what we should be looking at.

Richy is not getting many chances mainly due to his movement off the ball to create space for himself is not good enough. Maybe the service to him could also be better?
We created a fair few chances yesterday and I can’t think of one for Richarlison. He has a lot to like in a striker but he has to make himself more of a goal threat if he is to make it with us

We keep talking about a winger but I seriously think Solomon is the man. He came on yesterday and looks so strong, quick and has great ability. I think another centre back and a striker that can hold it up,relatively quick and score goals. Vlahovic is that guy and get Orban in too as he can play off the sides as well.

We need a rotation option at CB more than anything. Midfield is pretty much sorted unless PEH leaves. I think even the attack is fine, they just haven't clicked yet and can still improve with time. I'd rather give the front 3 a chance and wait until January if it doesn't work. We have decent options in Perisic and Solomon and can play Son as a 9 until then.

We aren't spending big money on another striker, they'll give their 60m signing a chance before giving up on him.

There's also Gil after he's recovered from his surgery.

He doesn’t sniff danger. Couple of times it fell in the 6 yard box and he’s always just not in the right place. Guys like Kane get 10 goals a season in those situations. His attitude coming off will not sit right with the manager. Ange is all about the group and being together but Richy’s reaction to coming off showed it’s all about him. He had enough time to create or score something. He won’t ever be the guy that we can rely on. He will score some goals and maybe important ones but never that 15+ goals minimum a season.

He knows where the back of the net is though!

Edit - who do you think would be the perfect fit ?
He does and it’s a great question.

Honestly not sure. Based on yesterday, someone that runs in behind, has a nose for rebounds and cutbacks then can also receive into feet and dribble at people to get a shot off…

Kind of sounds like what the Orban hls look like but he’s not as great receiving back to goal yet.

Your missing pieces of the puzzle are a prolific no.9 and a right winger who can score and assist, if you did Spurs could challenge for the title, that's not hyperbole.

Maddison, Bissouma and Sarr are the PL's versions of Celtic's Hatate, Calmac and O'Riley, offering balance like chess pieces in the midfield. Plus you have that midfield bench, plus Udogie and Son. Emerson and Porro between the two of them, are good enough. Your centre backs are good enough.

If you get those upfront reinforcements, it gonna to be frightening.

I still think we want 3 in

Striker - Orban
MF/FWD - Eze
CB - Schuurs

we have 30 + man squad at the moment though, we need movement on

Lloris
Reguilon
Hojbjerg
Sanchez (?)
Gil (difficult with injury)
Dier
Lo Celso
Sesegnon (difficult with injury)
Spence
Tanganga
Ndombele

That's 11 players. I can only realistically see us getting rid of 5/6

Prob - Lloris, Sanchez, Spence. Tanganga. Hojbjerg, Lo Celso

We'll have to loan Tanguy again and it seems Reggie might be hard to get off the books too.

I'd rather Dier go than Sanchez but Sanchez is the more likely to have offers.

it's a messy squad. Ange himself said - we need to get rid of a good few, we can't just keep accumulating players.

You brought up Orban out of nowhere and then insisted I answer your question about him.

If you’re all in on Orban and believe he’s going to make the difference in his first season then I can see why you’re anxious to get him. I think the odds are against that but I’d love to see you be correct!
I'm on the Orban train personally. His instincts, from what I've seen, are top notch. I honestly think he'd take the Prem by storm, as the way AP sets up would suit him perfectly.

Barring Ndombele - surely there's clubs that will take the rest of the players?

I don't believe in buying out contracts but also you have to pay the wages regardless.

You're losing that cash if they just sit on the bench getting splinters in their arse anyway.
It's better to get rid, but since financially it'll be the same paying off the player or keeping on the bench, it's better to hold on to them. Two reasons: you might get a fee next window, or you may need to call upon them in case of injuries.
