Not Jonathan David…
He’s someone we’d be immediately looking to upgrade, just like Richarlison. He just isn’t it. Doesn’t have any elite qualities and can’t hold up the ball. Buffed stats due to pens.
Jonathan David is the type of signing a naive mid-table club with new money makes for a big fee and then gets confused when they finish 16th. He’s not trash but he’s mid, which in many ways may be worse, at least crap players let you know they need to be upgraded immediately. He’s a weak link in what we’re trying to build here, I just know it.Really don't get it.
At least with Orban you can see the pace and ball striking. The kid has plenty to learn but those 2 things can be elite level for his ceiling.
David is just bang average at everything.
Every time every coach says they rate a player, people on here think they 100% do.Sounds like a Dier situation. Just because a manager says “he’s in my plans” in a press conference, it doesn’t mean he actually wants to keep the player.
Reminds me of this:
Mauricio Pochettino insists the Tottenham careers of Emmanuel Adebayor, Younes Kaboul and Etienne Capoue are not over despite the trio not being involved since January.
Gio is made of paper and has a very poor output of goals and assists. I doubt Ange will be keen to keep him.
Well it’s true that he hasn’t given him a single minute. What kind of player would be happy with not playing? If Ange wanted to use him, he’d use him. Skipp and Hojbjerg have got minutes and he hasn’t had one.
is it?
If he had to fill in then fair enough enough but VDV is a centre back or orthodox LB if needed. I wouldn’t want to see him going in narrow to left centre mid to receive the ball with his back to goal thoughBased on two games? My point was that it only happens in an extreme set of circumstances.
Systems are systems and are not based around one given individual. You might be right. You might also be wrong.
I'm not in the business of hobbling horses so I can say "I told you so" but I guess we might find out at some stage this season.
From what I’ve saw of him in games is he’s not lightning quick, but has got a turn of pace, can finish and very unselfish as he sets his team mates up when in a better position. Saw him against PSG last season and didn’t really know who he was but he was really good that night that he made me take notice. Definitely see why there would be interest if it’s true.I hope the David rumours are true. I'm biased as a Canadian, but I really like him. He's a good finisher, works hard and from the limited viewing of Ange and his system, I think David would fit the system well.
And yeah, maybe Orban would be amazing if his growth continues, but it's been a short rise for him. Maybe we should buy both and if we end up with two good young CFs, that's not the worst problem for a club to have.
Correct. Media making up shit againYep, boss says he's happy with him and every single report we've heard from him has been glowing, suddenly after 2 matches he's unhappy? Give me a break
He's been linked to Barca, sounds to me that their media are trying to push a narrative.
