The glut of players with an attitude like Spurs are their country club to which they have a life membership is a direct consequence of the decision to hand out long term deals to our existing squad while not bringing in suitable competition to challenge them during the critical moment of Poch's tenure, then sacking Poch, and Jose, and Nuno, and Conte, and Stellini, while never holding that tenured leadership group of players responsible for their years and years of coming up short in critical moments.

The disappearance of the competitive sporting mentality that is absolutely vital in professional football has been shocking and disheartening to see.

Correcting that is Ange's initial mission above all else and early signs look very promising. But that's why I'm shouting from the rafters that the guys responsible for that diseased culture cannot be allowed a way back into the team the way they have ALWAYS been given a way back into the team in the past.
Yeah, well said!

No I know, I’m not disagreeing with that, it’s a comment on the state of the league, that there exists a real opportunity this year.

However, once Newcastle, United, and Chelsea’s projects begin to develop, with the insane amount of financial backing they have, they will be as out of reach as City are.

Oil money makes the game and league unfair.
What United project?

Levy and ENIC have all the urgency of a snail, coming up to two weeks since we sold out best player and still no new forward.

Yes, we've made a good start and scored some goals but not a single one has come from our preferred front three, not even an assist.

That's worrying, it should be anyway but we all know Levy and ENIC aren't in it for the Glory and expect a manager to perform miracles.
I agree with the sentiment here, but we have 33 players and can only register 25 of them. No other clubs will come in for them until the death, as they know our expectations of wages being covered, transfer or loan fees will drop. Until they are shifted we cannot pull the trigger on any signings, and granted we are in this position because of ENIC over the last few years but we cannot really expect incomings.

We just have to hope we have things lined up, to get them signed as soon as the outgoings start being confirmed at the end of the window.

What does it matter where our goals come from? The 8s will get plenty of goals in this system and... it's only 2 games ffs!

Hope?!

Well, that's fucked it then. Personally I'd be willing to send each of them on loan and pay all their wages if it gets them out of the club.

Dier and Hugo have a year left, Tanguy 2 but that guy should never pull on another Spurs shirt again.

The damage they're doing is worse than the financial hit we would take.

Just sounds like we're asking for too much or maybe Levy has pissed off too many people in football, no handouts or help is coming our way.

Agreed.

I think that video made a good point which shouldn't be ignored (for us as much as Brighton): we're attractive to players because we're still a bit shit in some areas. I'm paraphrasing, but the point was players look at their opportunities at 'bigger' clubs with first 11 and bench full of internationals and don't fancy toiling in the shadows for a few years. But Brighton has a seaside (shit beach) and you're more likely to slot straight into their first team and be spotted for MEGAbucks.

I mean, it's quite likely that some players are looking at us and going 'I can do better than [so and so]' and they will still have a level they can go up from here (for the time being).

So... where are they?
I know that players feel they have more of a chance to break into the Brighton team than they do with Spurs, because Brighton is a smaller club. But that's because we have a shit model. If we had a Brighton model, they would be chomping at the bit to join us knowing there is a pathway and at a bigger team too.

Hilarious that bastoni is on another level to lenglet. Bastoni had an excellent game vs man City. Is highly regarded in italy to this day, and wasn't a player in poor form who a big team were trying to cast off. In fact inter wanted to keep him.

While we are blaming conte for richarlison and porro (who remains a useful player by the way), let's do the same and congratulate him for bissouma, bentancur, romero, and udogie...

Congrats......

Must have missed that. Do you have a link?

"sources close to the Qatari bid believe the process has stalled amid concerns the Glazer family are not sure they want to sell"

Which has inspired:

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Levy is asking for these unrealistic prices for our deadwood now which he will inevitably drop (and we magically somehow get rid of 3 or 4 in one day)in the last day of the window when there is no time to bring in players.

He will then use the excuse of it being an extremely hard process to sell players hence why we didn't make any more signings. Can read the bullshit a mile off.

Oh it was a bit more than a calm observation........ You're not kidding anyone, fella!

Perspective:

Man U , Chavs & Liverpool were shit last year.... We finished 8th and embarked on a rebuild.... One the includeds (as you insist on reminding us every damn post) losing an irreplaceable 'best' ST in the world.

[ Awaits a "we should be replacing Kane, damn-it!" counter-comment which completely sidesteps the point. ]

Your creativity is going to waste..... Have you tried painting or poetry?

Brighton are essentially just a feeder Club, players know they can go there and play and then get sold onto one of the bigger Clubs, not sure I want that for us
