Paying 50m for Johnson would be a blow, but I don't think it'd drive anyone towards suicide.
Keeping Dier might though

So we are entering the most emotional time of the year. Everyone prepare yourselves.
I don't want the same histrionics we saw during the last week of the last few Transfer windows. Let's all try to compose ourselves and keep the suicide threats to a minimum. Always remember to connect with family/friends and go outside for regular walks. I'm leaving a link below for those of you who need someone to talk to. If we stick together, we can get through this week.

I'd actually say Udogie has stepped up bigtime in his role as lb, and that Udinese didn't utilize his comfort on the ball quite enough in games. I kind of worried a bit watching him at times, in that Cb's often ignored him as a short passing option (though probably mentioned here before that it was prob tactical, not his shortcoming) and his role was more as a ball carrier and arriving in the box. Didn't know he was so adept in possession, short passes, flicks around the corner. But yeah, Udogie looks like a star so far, unreal signing whatever the price.I suspect the answer is Udogie was either playing a system close to Angeball in Italy last season and/or has adapted more quickly to Angeball than Porro who is still trying to forget Conteball requirements of a wingback which had no requirement for the RWB to move into midfield.
So I guess Porro will get better at Angeball the more he plays - although atm, I think Udogie is just the far superior player who at aged 20 looks a potential superstar, and that might be a factor that differentiates Porro and Udogie, but after 3 games its too soon to make that call.
You're underrating him, he's one of the fastest forwards in the Prem, he hit 36.22kmh last season.
Total incompetence that we got 3 quality starters addressing 3 key areas in the first XI?4 days left. If Ange wasn’t this good we would be fuming. It’s total incompetence once again.
Those of you getting all caught up in the Evan Ferguson hype, watch him against WHAM.
Doubt he ever has a 20 goal season in the premier league.
Johnson is faster and is a better finisher. His movement is also so far ahead of Gil's its like there's a massive age gap.
He absolutely is ahead of Gil in development by a mile and to argue any different is delusional imo.
Gil when given the chance(which I admit isn't much) hasn't shown anything really. He's also so physically slight that he probably won't be in consideration to start any meaningful game for a long time.
Can you really judge a player off of one game? An 18 year old at that.
I just posted a video of Gift Orban against West Ham and he was probably no better.
This will age poorly imo. Those of you getting all caught up in the Evan Ferguson hype, watch him against WHAM.

Gil’s only chance recently was the match against Palace last season and he looked lively. You can see the potential.
You don’t buy a player like Gil for Conte but you don’t sell a player like Gil with Ange in charge.
The thing is he seems to be a bit of a sidestep from Kulu, and for £50m it doesn't seem worth it. He seems to be in the not-so-sweet spot of being highly rated and expensive but not actually that highly rated or productive.£50m for Johnson is a lot but he offers us a proper out and out pacey winger. Beyond that he will give Kulusevski genuine competition. That is just as important, if Johnson is stuck on the bench because Kulusevski is playing out of his skin to keep him there then the transfer has done it’s job.
It’s why we also need one more CB beyond just injury cover, competition for places will help us big time. Look at our midfield depth with Maddison, Lo Celso, Bissouma, Bentancur, Sarr, Skipp and Hojbjerg. That is proper good.

Stinks of a Sessegnon or Spence type flop.
We have taken 57 shots combined in all our matches. Richie had 4 of them. It's not like he gets 5-6 a game and whiffs on every single one. The problem is not so much him, as it is the service he is getting. I don't know how a different striker would change that.Bizarre that anyone who saw yesterday would say we did not as an absolute priority need a striker and then a player the combo of Sarr/Hjojberg or a returning and fit Bentancur.
A realistic post countered by the Levy haters as "Levy's wet dream." And then you wonder why we call you muppets. Why are you ok with this? You are literally Levy’s wet dream. Like you say, we badly need a forward because Richarlison just doesn’t cut it and we sold Harry for 100 mil, so what is the excuse? If we sign zero players now, I think most Spurs fans will be angry at Levy once again leaving us short. I’m fully expecting him to just do that.
