Fati would be perfect ukno, we have no depth at left winger, especially not enough left wingers who like to cut in and lack top-end pace…

The Ansu pre meniscus who was an electric dribbler and runner would be amazing. But if that Ansu was the one who still exists today then Barca would have him staring every match.

He’s a talented player but he’s not what we need up front at all, we are crying out for either a) a proper #9 or b) a dribbling 1v1 beast of a right winger and Fati is neither. Johnson is kind of the second but even his profile isn’t perfect.

tbf to fati he is a better finisher then richi and is more of an inside forward then a flat out winger, like rashford

Ansu Fati missed a whopping one league game due to injury last season.
One missed game in all comps due to injury since April 2022. 51 appearances last year.

Fati tore his meniscus a week after his 18th birthday in November 2020. Surgery, long absence, these things happen. His body was asked to do a lot at a very tender age.

In January 2022, not long after returning, he did his hamstring. That's a scary injury for a player that young, one where you worry about long-term durability. Fati and Barca elected against surgical repair and just gave it time to heal.

A year and a half since returning and he's been fine. And those are the only two injuries in his career, it's not like it's been a string of little things, he had a big one, and then another fairly significant one right as he was returning.

The hamstring thing could also be related to re-learning athletic movements in the recovery process from the knee thing, that's not super uncommon.

And that’s your opinion( fair enough )I and many others have seen this club win things and frankly I think it’s despicable how we continue to throw these trophies away so Dan and his mates can get rich off of the loyalty of the fans. This club was once successful as a football Club, unfortunately it’s now a multi million pound cash cow for some rich thieves and that’s all it will be for years to come it seems. Oh well here’s to some success and finishing 6th or somewhere near there , yay!
Not just for years to come, but forever. Football has changed and not going back to the good old days, I'm afraid. It's a business now and a cutthroat one at that. Our only hope is that we get bought by someone with unlimited cash, who is also a die-hard fan and doesn't care about running it as a business. Not many of those around.

He's playing in Spain, though. I'm wondering if Ange's conditioning requirements and the physicality of the PL might be too much for him.

CB is the most pressing need followed by a winger. With Bentancur getting healthy and expected back in October I dont see us signing a midfielder before those
The problem for me is even if he's healthy I have no idea how long it will take him to be the same player again.

But I agree that a CB and winger are the most important incomings, but from what I've read we are trying to get that done. And with the news about Utd maybe wanting Hojbjerg we'd need a replacement if that happens. Amrabat isn't expensive and was targeted by both Utd and Liverpool so I assume he's a decent player unless he's still living off the world cup.

1 There are now only 17 PL matches left before the start of the January transfer window, one match a week other than in December when we have 7 matches.

2 There are in total 35 PL matches left to play this season plus a run in the FA Cup, so circa 40 matches left this season - mainly playing once a week.

I can see Ange wanting to start his 'first team' in the majority of matches, using for the most part maybe 6 or 7 other players - so lets call it a maximum of 20 players being used, with any more in the squad almost getting minimal playing, as there are just too few games.

The core 16 players are Vicario, Porro, Royal, Romero, Van de Ven, .Udogie, Bentancur, Bissouma, Madison, Sarr, Skipp, Richarlison, Son, Kulusevski, Solomon, Perisic . And probably keeping for cover this season Forster, Davies, maybe Lo Celso, and probably a 3rd CB to get to about a 20 man squad.

So the rest of this window should be about trying to move on players not on that list (although Sessegnon and Gil are recovering from ops) and other than a 3rd CB, I'd only buy very good quality players - no point in buying more squad fillers.

And that then means in January and next summer we focus on buying quality players or maybe youngsters with excellent potential, rather than more squad players.

Of course it doesn't help that the list of players who seem resistant to moves away from Spurs include Lloris, Dier, Ndombele, Reguilon .

Are you serious?! Both were given a chance and were loaned because they weren't good enough, why do you think spence was sent on loan last season and not looked at this season prob will be sold to Leeds?
Gil was loaned out becaue Conti was a donkey.

He had some good games, before he went on loan. Spurs were a complete dog against Preston he and Ara.... forget his name now changed how we played and looked much better, finally winning 3-0.
