OK, I got to page 2535 where you were all hyped/angry about the 100% arrival of Fati.
What page did the "experts" start back tracking?

If Romero or Bissouma get injured Davinson and Pierre have to play.

The main issues vs Fulham were caused by those 2.
Can't really agree with that.

If you put a microgram of cyanide in a gallon of water you won't taste it or die.
If the water is 9 parts cyanide and 1 part water you're gonna die pretty quickly.

Sanchez in a back four with VDV, Udogie and a RB playing well isn't the death knell.
PEH in a midfield of PEH, Maddison and Bentancur is perfectly adequate.

That team the other night was a fucking monstrosity of rejects. Too many below average players in one 11 is doomed. 1 or 2 below average players in a good side are fine.

The signs are looking promising, especially if we compare last season's final game away at Leeds, and this season's last game away at Bournemouth

While there is the obvious drop in quality after losing Harry Kane, the rest of the squad you'd argue has improved, whether that by via new signings or, existing players out performing last season's output

We of course have a new manager in Ange Postecoglou, taking over from interim Ryan Mason, who has brought with him a new system

We also had 5 new faces involved in the squad last Saturday, with 4 players from Leeds away no longer with the club

Harry Winks - £10m

We still need to move on a few players, although regarding Hugo Lloris, there's talk of him 'moving up stairs'...?

GK - 4 (5) - Vicario, Forster, Austin, Lloris? (Whiteman injured)we should have 3;
Vicario, Forster, Austin
CB - 6 - van de Ven, Romero, Sanchez, Davies, Dier, Tangangawe should have 5;
van de Ven, Romero, Sanchez, Davies, Tanganga
FB - 4 (5) - Porro, Royal, Udogie, Reguilon (Sessegnon injured)we should have 4;
Porro, Royal, Udogie, (Sessegnon injured)
CM - 7 (8) - Sarr, Skipp, Bissouma, Lo Celeo, Maddison, NDombele, Hojbjerg (Bentancur injured)we should have 7;
Sarr, Skipp, Bissouma, Lo Celeo, Maddison, Hojbjerg (Bentancur injured)
FW - 5 (6) - Richarlison, Solomon, Kulusevski, Son, Perisic (Gil injured)we should have 6;
Richarlison, Son, New Player, Kulusevski, Solomon, Perisic

If that's the case above; Lloris, Whiteman, Dier, NDombele, Reguilon, Gil, would all be seeing the exit door

which would leave us looking like this...
Vicario
Forster
Austin

Porro - Romero - van de Ven - Udogie
Royal - Sanchez - Davies - Sessegnon

Sarr - Maddison - Bissouma
Skipp - Lo Celso - Hojbjerg

Kulusevski - Richarlison - Solomon
New Player - Son - Perisic

Tanganga and Bentancur making up the 25 (which is actually 23), leaving room for Bryan Gil to finally be given a real go at the club (24) leaving us room for one more addition that might still happen

Homegrown: 8
Forster, Austin, Tanganga, Davies, Sessegnon, Skipp, Maddison, New Player

Under 21s: 2
Udogie, Sarr

Overseas: 16
Vicario, Porro, Romero, Royal, Sanchez, van de Ven, Bissouma, Lo Celso, Hojbjerg, Kulusevski, Solomon, Richarlison, Son, Perisic, Bentancur, Gil

The 'upgrade' areas are debatable as everyone has an opinion on who they'd like to see replaced
The immediate future, come the January Transfer window, could see both Davidson Sanchez and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg moving out of the club. Hojbjerg's replacement hopefully being a fully fit again Rodrigo Bentancur. Sanchez should be replaced. Of course both of these transfers may happen before the summer window closes

The longer term future isn't of too much interest as of yet, however players such as Frazer Forster, Japhet Tanganga, Ryan Sessegnon, Ben Davies and Giovani Lo Celso are just some of the players we need to be thinking about replacing in the long term

We'd have to be 200% sure about him and he'd have to be the missing piece to do that. Cause we saw how our last 200K a week signing turned out.
Things have moved on. Our peers are spending 400M net, signing 100M players like Rice, we should be in a complete state of panic. Still no outside investment, just plucky old Spurs teetering about on the periphery doing the bare minimum.

Transfers are much harder in January.
Good clubs don’t sell their best assets in January if they’re fighting for trophies. Very poor clubs don’t want to get rid of the assets that might save them from relegation.
You’re usually left with guys that have become surplus (like Deki) at good clubs or, if you’re really lucky, someone from a club desperate to raise cash.
I’m sure Chelsea will be listing a fair few.

I feel that is a little dated, the Jan TW nowadays feels more like a mini Summer window

Look at last Jan for example:

It just proves if you have the money which Prem teams have then there's loads of deals to be done mainly because European teams don't have the money compared to Prem teams.

So Jan could be a perfect opportunity to revisit the market for us.

I know it's going to take time to overhaul the squad (again) but cannot believe that this might be it.

The Kane money was the perfect shortcut to cutting out one of the transfer windows Ange will need, and whilst the early signs are positive, we are still fucked for depth and deficient up top.

Ultimately you expect the remit is to hit 4th or 5th (assuming coefficient aids a fifth CL spot) with no EU footie. Surely that's not the remit but on a zero net spend.

Oh there's a fucking surprise, once again a load of grown men melting down over something that never actually happened lmao

Ya'll need to stop doing this, you believe anything you read purely because of desperation, you get used to the idea of it and when it doesn't happen you all run back to blame Levy because it aligns with your confirmation bias, it's so pathetic 🤣

So gullible, when will you lot ever learn...

Cole Palmer has 19 appearances, of which I assume many are as sub.
Johnson has 131 games under his belt, many if which are starters

How can you possibly draw that conclusion?
Obviously a lot easier to get starts for Forest than City. Even Foden has had to be extremely patient there. But watching him play, you can see the ability is there with Palmer.

Spence is an example of a guy who played regularly at Forest but can't get a game at a bigger club. Let's hope Johnson fares a lot better if he comes.

Time to make my final day predictions.

OUT
Dier - Sporting
Ndombele - Inter
Tanganga - Fulham
Hojbjerg - Athletico
Reggie - Genoa
Perisic - Split
Lloris - Free agent

IN
Adarabioyo from Fulham
Johnson from Forest

Johnson and Adarabioyo should be enhancements to the squad. If Hoijberg and Perisic leave, they will also need replacing, because the drop off in those positions is awful. Both are adequate squad options.

Define cheating? FFP rules are clearly too weak, and they aren’t bribing refs. Just proud, ambitious people trying to inspire their team to be successful. Yes their owners are brown which clearly irks you but hey, that alone is not cheating
Any club that wins more than us. Spends more than us. Or shows more ambition than us must, by definition, be cheating.

I think that's how it works, mate. .:freund:

Yeah I’m not against that
