We got Solomon for free, and Maddison cheap, I don't see an issue if we overpay for someone else. ie Johnson if that's who the manager wants. it's all swings and roundabouts.

And if he doesn't go to Monaco and we sell Dier, Dier won't play any part. And if we sell both and buy another CB, neither will play a part. And we can go on and on with the hypotheticals.
Regardless of what happens though, I doubt Dier will play any part, let alone a significant one. Worst case scenario Royal fills in at RCB and Davies at LCB. Dier gets nowhere near the squad.
I genuinely hope that Phillips would play in place of Dier, and I know next to nothing about him.

they are proper signings though. to be fair we paid 50m for romero who was serie A best defender. i dont think we do that if at WHL.
