Hard to view the window as a success in the aggregate. We’ve lost a world class talent and still have plenty of holes despite some good looking signings. They’ve left the job incomplete and it’s a massive disappointment.

Ange has been pretty straightforward about the squad so far.

He knows Diers shit and Sanchez has his limitations. He knows our backup CBs are shaky and he still went with Johnson instead of a CB.

Maybe he has a contingency plan for CB that we don’t know about. I’ll wait until we have a CB injury and dier is playing until melting.
I suspect Ange wanted a forward (Johnson in this case) AND a CB.

We were linked with the likes of Schuurs & Tapsoba but, as the window progressed, we kept hearing all this stuff about the need to get HG players in.

We've failed to persuade Tosin to join as a squad option all window, and the late bid for BASE cilent Lloyd Kelly smacks ofdesperation as Bournemouth were not prepared to sell one of their key defenders on deadline day.

My reading is that the obsession with signing a HG CB has derailed our efforts to get a good one in. And, as many have said, if Davinson (despite his limiations) is sold tonight we have no experienced CB depth remaining.

Other than Dier, with all that implies....

It's been a fucked window in general. Hard to judge winners and lossers as its so fucked.

We are down as Kane is genuinely one of the few world class players but he was on a free next year so little choice.

Bit dissapointing in some ways if we only bring in Johnson BUT would rather do next to no business than bring in the wrong players or players just for the sake of it. We all know we need more depth but Rome wasn't built in a day. If we have a good, positive season and play attractive footballl then we'll be a more attractive proposition for players in the summer anyway where you have more time do sensible business.

Better to be grateful and focus on the top class spine of the team we have in Vicario, Romero, van de Ven, Bissouma, Bentancur, Maddison and Son.

3/4 out of 10

Pathetic how useless crap like Dier and Sanchez can still be at this club. They should both have been fucked off 4 years ago. GLC and Tanguy still here. As is Lloris.

This club is a fucking charity case for shit footballers.

5/10 but was really struggling with that or a 4/10.

The additions of Maddison, VDV, and Vicario all seem really solid and good moves by us. Solomon may prove to be a decent pickup, especially on a free. Veliz and Phillips could be nice moves for the future and I like to see us building a group of promising players that can really develop.

No CB backup is a killer for me, and being unable to shift some of our deadweight will continue to be a weight hanging around out neck.

Mutually terminating multiple contracts now would solidify my 5/10 score and maybe move it up slightly.

By the way, what do all you cunts do for a living? I don't have the stats, but it seems to me this thread had lots more action 9am to 5pm than in the last hour... Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising those who are blatantly spending all deadline day on the internet whilst being paid to work - I'm simply questioning why on earth such people would then put their families first as soon as they get home. :/

Oh shit, need to say something transfer-related or I'll be a hypocrite for going off-topic... Personally, whilst I can see lots of positives from the window, I will be disappointed if we don't bring in another CB in the next few hours - unless of course a). Ange rates Phillips or Dorrington, and b). He turns out to be right. Otherwise, for me, all good. Well, realistically good enough. :)
Its summer holidays innit, most of the posters are back to school next week. They've got GCSE's to study for.
