I assume we'll get someone in January, Lloyd Kelly would have have a year left on his contract at that point, can't imagine he'd be prohibitively expensive.
I don't want us to buy average players just because they are homegrown. People like Kelly or Tosin wouldn't even be discussed if they weren't English.

He'll have 6 months left at that point.

I'd assume that if Phillips gets a chance and impresses then that situ will likely be up for review.

As all our business is more or less done I thought I would provide a list of players bought by our previous managers.
Lloris is technically still a Spurs player and he is the last of the AVB buys.

And Your Point is?

We could have bought 500 players that aren't the managers 1st choice. Would it be backing that manager? Managers are forced by Levy to accept 2nd best because 1st (if they expensive or older than 25) are not likely coming their way. The managers, since Ramos, have openly spoke about how players are bought and sold without looking at what they want.

If you own a Maybach that needs overhauling , You go to a Specialist Mechanic and he gives you a list of parts needed. Can you go and buy a carburetor for a VW Golf, a Distributor for Toyota Yaris, Pistons for a Jeep Wrangler, Rings for a Vauxhall ....., No they don't work together. You need to get him exactly what he needs.

Many here believe it's Ok to do so as long as the car gets you from point A to Point B before the VW Up. Its ok if you have to work on fixing it everyday for the next trip because it never behaves as expected. This has been happening for many years. It time to change how Spurs works. And don't tell me the Supporters can't change anything, because without them, there will be no Spurs.

That's a surprise.
I thought he had an outside chance of getting in the 1st team squad.
Well, not really but good luck to him.
He is swift and a good passer. Can play anywhere along the back line.
Agreed.

I was under the impression he was on his way up, one of the few academy stories that looked good for us. I hope there's a buy-back clause. Maybe, like Cirkin and Clarke, he didn't see a way through and has taken the big step of moving on.

Good luck to him.

More kids!

This is gonna be our team 2024/25

Christ on a bike, can't believe some of the comments regarding these 'waste of spaces' x2 and the finances involved therein.

Some peeps obviously don't understand how business works and the meaning of depreciation. To add up all the original and incurring costs of a new player purchased and subtract a selling on fee at a later date in order to determine profit or loss only exists in cloud cuckoo land.

Granted the 'Brighton' model whereby you buy a player for 30 bob and sell them for a kings ransom is the preferred modus operandi but this is generally not how business works.

Cunt though he is Boehly has got it off to a tee and the main reason why the Chavs are able to sail through the FFP waters without getting wet.

The longer the contract the easier to distribute the costs i.e. Dav bought for circa £42m in 2017 on a 6 year contract = 42 divided by 6 = a depreciation rate of £7m per year therefore he's practically paid for himself so anything coming in is bunts. Forget about the wages everybody gets paid and the return is based on an exchange of labour regardless of the standard of workmanship. Tis why HG talent sales are regarded as 100% profit as in the case of HK.

Remains to be seen what the final cost of ND will be because he hasn't yet left for good but any % of wage subsidy for an asset that provides no value to the Club has to be better than nothing.

I remember there was a lot of hype with him.

He was out for most of last season after it was discovered he had a heart condition/problem. Apparently it's sorted/maintainable now but he missed a lot of football and only had a year left on his contract. Hopefully all good health-wise and he can have a decent career
