At Spurs ? I think there's a good chance that we'll win a trophy before Spurs do.

Not even the best comment on there:
yeah saw that one yesterday - fucking mental take, is Son the only reason we finished much higher?

You ought to learn the difference between mentality and strategy, already covered this:

More to the point if you don't trust the manager yourself and think he's not good enough then why do you believe in him when he says we can win the league, or are you just picking apart certain statements which suit your agenda maybe.:gallashmm:

Not sure you can have it both ways...
Firstly you post an article from September last year accompanied with some personal psychoanalysis nonsense whereas I posted a quote from the horses mouth a mere 4 months ago.

Even still, in the article he states:

"It depends on the development of the players within this context. We’ve got a lot of young players. So if they develop really quickly, probably not too much," he said. "But I definitely think we need at least two more windows to get to a space where I think ‘okay, we [are happy] as a squad’.

He's in the middle of 3rd window so 2 more from when this article was written, I'll leave it to the reader to decide if this window has been enough for him to be in the space he mentioned and whether or not our young players have developed enough which should surely be a resounding yes.

As for the rest of your post you joker, are you saying if I think the manager hasn't proven to be good enough yet I can't listen to anything he says or hold him to any standard, especially when he's mouthing off about being such a winning mentality monster and only interested in titles?

I do hope you've always followed that approach and kept your mouth shut when it comes to managers you don't rate, somehow I don't think you have and I defo won't be.

'City are selling Alvarez for £30m more than they paid for Haaland'

Latest from Sky Sports News' Lyall Thomas:
Manchester City have sold their backup striker for £30m more than they paid for Erling Haaland.
The now £82m Alvarez joined for £14m as a relative unknown two years ago and has won a lot with the club in that time.
Pep Guardiola has always said that if a player wants to leave and he and his representatives bring an offer at market value then he will not stand in their way.
City have lots of attacking options and are excited by the arrival of Savio and the progress of Oscar Bobb.
The deal for Alvarez to Atletico will allow Chelsea's talks over Omorodion and therefore Gallagher's move to Atletico to progress.

LMFA at selling him for more than they paid for Haaland.
If you ignore the fact Haaland had a release clause, that his wage packet adds up to more than Alverez is being sold for and there's probably tens of millions of unaccounted money somewhere hidden in the Haaland deal.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realise there was some laughable arbitrary time barometer for what we accept as gospel but okay then if you're struggling with dates and what seemingly appeals to you in your head he literally said this in May which was....2 months ago:

In the context of whether we can challenge the top two:

"It’s hard to say, we’re talking 20-odd points. It’s a fair chunk, not just three positions in the table. You’re looking at the points tally and there’s a significant gap, and not just for us but that’s us at the beginning of the process. That’s us at the base camp in terms of creating a foundation," explained Postecoglou.

"I think if you put time frames on it you’re either putting too much pressure on yourself to achieve something that’s difficult or you’re limiting yourself if you say it’s five years down the line when why should it be five years down the line. Why can’t it be next year? It’s not about bridging the gap, it’s about improving in yourself. If we can be a better team next year than this year logically you’d say we’ll get closer. How much closer depends on how much better we are. Putting time frames on it is not going to help us."

Does this sound like a manager who really thinks we can challenge the league, really? Really? I don't know about you it sounds to me that he's sitting on the fence here and he's using a load of caveats which is manager speak for not overloading on expectations, it's very normal

Even still, in the article he states:

"It depends on the development of the players within this context. We’ve got a lot of young players. So if they develop really quickly, probably not too much," he said. "But I definitely think we need at least two more windows to get to a space where I think ‘okay, we [are happy] as a squad’.

Okay the next thing we need to learn is how to not take things out of context, he was asked this:

Postecoglou was asked exactly how many more transfer windows he believes he needs to turn this Tottenham outfit into his squad.

That was his answer, again - nothing about challenging for the league so I'm not sure what we're doing here...?

There's obvious caveat's and he's using careful language, maybe it's a bit to subtle for you and you struggle to read past basic headlines, I don't know?

He's in the middle of 3rd window so 2 more from when this article was written, I'll leave it to the reader to decide if this window has been enough for him to be in the space he mentioned and whether or not our young players have developed enough which should surely be a resounding yes.

So this is the window he thinks he'll be happy with the squad having said that he did say this the other day so:

As for the rest of your post you joker, are you saying if I think the manager hasn't proven to be good enough yet I can't listen to anything he says or hold him to any standard, especially when he's mouthing off about being such a winning mentality monster and only interested in titles?

I do hope you've always followed that approach and kept your mouth shut when it comes to managers you don't rate, somehow I don't think you have and I defo won't be.

If you think the manager isn't good enough, you think he should be sacked and you've more than made your point at the back end of last season on plenty of occasions then that means you don't trust him so therefore how can you continually actually take his word as gospel when he says we can challenge for the league?

You either trust him or you don't, let's pick an argument and preferably one that doesn't suit your agenda so we can move on.

You're much smarter than you're letting on, someone like you shouldn't be getting confused between mentality and strategy, it's a very basic concept.

And your final paragraph is a load of nonsense so I'm not gonna bother replying to it sorry.
