Proper strikers finish with his right foot.

I’d be very chilled about selling Richy, bringing a RW and rotating Solanke and Kulusevski through the middle

Well Ange just made me look a mug in the press conference and confirmed that Kulusevski won't play striker again now that Solanke is here.

Says Kulusevski is an AM now really which means he is likely playing in the 8/10 rotation and we still sign a winger.

I think Spence was only playing LB for

A) fitness and minutes
B) to see if he can play there

I think he's fine at right back tbh. Playing the opposite flank as a full back, especially inverted is always going to be a horrible experience.

It was nice to see Gray play there today though. Some loose passes but he looked much more comfortable than he did in midfield.
Yeah I would have no worries about Gray playing RB in the Prem. I think he's ready.

6 is a completely different proposition though. He has shown he's got great feet and is super technical so he should be able to learn the role over time.

I am not questioning that. I preferred Toney or even Alvarez or even a player with a better pedigree in terms of trophies but club signed Solanke, he's a Spurs player now and am totally behind the new signing, Hope he does well scores 20 plus in the PL and 10 plus in the cups. Realistic expectations for a Spurs fan and achievable target for a £60m striker.
The future will tell if right signing BUT defo ain't a marquee signing. The likes of Haaland, Mbape, Messi, Ronaldo, Bale are/were. The gap is huge so let's not compare.
I don't remember Solanke being mentioned in this thread until few days ago, Toney was.
I understand what you are saying but it’s obvious that 1) Solanke fits the system to a tee 2) He is always fit which is a big positive 3)he doesn’t have to be Kane he just need to score 15+ we have others who can chip in. To be fair they are not much forwards that scream marquee signing so all in all I really like this signing it’s not big but it’s smart

He did look ok but I think he’s a bit raw to play RB in the PL. He needs bedding in.

Re Spence, that’s the exact kind of scenario that will put his “is he a good lad” mentality to the test. I am not sure Ange will want to risk him becoming a bad egg.
Has he ever really been a bad egg? He was late for training I think.

I doubt Ange would have gone out of his way to speak so positively about him and just throw him out now.

He wouldn't be my priority, but he'd surely get in our side over Maddison going on the last 7/8 months of form.
Yeah possibly, they are very different players tbh

Maddison is going and getting the ball off the back 4 and making us play. He is involved in a lot of build up and is very good at taking the ball and using his body to get away from players

Eze is much more of a dribbler and does most of his best work in the final third, but i dont see him playing out wide, he would be cutting inside constantly

Good to hear.

Solanke and Richy mean we have a proper number 9 on the pitch at all times.

I think the strategy was to just pack the midfield with the right profile and versatility. Outside of the perceived starters (Biss, Sarr, Madders) we now have Kulu, Bergvall, Bentancur, Gray who are all technical and very physical.

You could pretty much have any two from that four playing ahead of Biss and you have a strong midfield.

It's a world away from having PEH, Gio or Skipp come in tbh.

Yeah, I don't see us signing Eze tbh. We have loads of decent or quite good midfielders but none are top quality, near prime players with great passing ability. Maddison is the closest but he's just not played with the zip required since his layoff last season.

For RW, I think Spurs could do worse than making an attempt for City's Oscar Bobb. Looks a magnificent talent.

Porto's Conçeição or PSV's Bakayoko I think would be good fits too.

Raphinha is 27 now but I would still take him too
I doubt that Man City will sell Bobb unless some club offers them "insane" money - and that won't be Levy & Lewis.

Francisco Conceição, at 170 cm, may be a bit light-weight for the EPL - but one may argue that Bernardo Silva is only 3 cm taller...

Raphinha's on €240,000 a week and was offered much more money to join the Saudi league but he's stated he want to remain at Barca

Brajan Gruda (Mainz) is one I hope Spurs are keeping an eye on...For me it would be between him and Bakayoko.

Yeah fully agreed and now that Kulusevski has played false 9 he’s got a better understanding (maybe) of where his goals can come from playing through the middle.

Really just a winger and a LB and we are in good shape

Gruda looks good.
