They weren’t bought for Ange

Tbh we don't even play with a clear 6 /8. All of them are interchangeable and Ange has said this many times so people continuously stating we need a 6 is pretty mind boggling.
If he’s considering united or Saudi, we need to be the mix here….

Who was Kulusevski bought for if not Ange? Either way those are fees we paid since he took over.

Remember being totally into Championship Manager back in the days. The 97/98 version.Football manager of course! come on mate get with the programme!![]()
Without going into details we currently have an EL squad of 25.
We are only allowed 21 so we have to sell 4 more players and also loan Phillips before we can add a single more player to the Euro squad.
In addition to the 21 we are also allowed 4 club trained players and currently have 3. So we could sign KWP today and be within the squad rules.
Yeah cause they're all so hardworking and good at protecting the back four...or should I say back twoTbh we don't even play with a clear 6 /8. All of them are interchangeable and Ange has said this many times so people continuously stating we need a 6 is pretty mind boggling.
Doesn’t Ange only want players who genuinely want to play for Spurs? It’s pretty obvious that Gallagher doesn’t want to. I like him to be honest and instead of Skipp would be great. We still need that more defensive midfielder though, a boss,a controller a pacemaker and Locatelli is just that type and apparently available in a bargain deal.
While risking with wrath of some super-optimists, I repeat what I said 1,5 weeks ago - based on the info that we have now I feel we have not done enough.
In recent windows we have future-proofed the sides with players like Gray and Bergvall and this young Korean winger. But for NOW... we need to make two more signings - #6 and sharp winger.
Looking at us having spent 120 million this summer and 272 million last season (392 million alltogether) with respective net spends of 151+93=244 million EUR, I just cannot see two high profile signings that would push gross spending to 492 million and net spend to 344 million.
OK that calculation DOES NOT include Hjojberg fee and potential sums from Regulion and Lo Celso sales, but latter two we have to most likely give away for next to nothing (less than 10 mil eur for both) but DOES include purchase fees of Kulu and Porro (combined 70 mil).
So - once again repeating - UP TO THIS POINT I feel that we will once again fall short on the last hurdle, make ONE LESS THAN NEEDED signing (assuming we will get 1 out of the 2 positions reinforced) which then translates into results and belief to brighter future for top class players (like Romero). There is still bit more than 2 weeks left in the window, so I'd be happy to be proven wrong and witness signing of Emerson and Eze for example.
That's not strictly true really, we can sign anyone and add them in place of one of the 4 we are hoping to move on, and then hopefully move the players on afterwards. Even if we can't move them on, they can still be replaced in the Euro squad by the new signing.Without going into details we currently have an EL squad of 25.

DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING FROM THE MEDIA!!!Really dont get this thinking with an 8, Sarr, Bergvall, Bentancur can all play there, probably Gray as well. A 6 i could understand. Really strange priorities.
Big chance definition: "A situation where a player should reasonably be expected to score, usually in a one on one scenario or from very close range when the ball has a clear path to goal and there is low to moderate pressure on the shooter". (Penalties are always considered big chances but seeing as we only had 2 of them awarded to us all of last season it only emphasises and underlines just how fucking good we are at creating them!!!I do not know what is the definition of "big chance". But I am pretty sure it is something subjective and there is BIG difference in big chance that means 3 vs 2 counter attack and chance where we find a shooting opportunity from within the box that has 9 opposition players in it, blocking most important routes to goal.
By the naked-eye-test, we were not sharp, direct and fast enough in offensive transitions too.
I would much prefer to have 4 very sharp counter attacking chances in a game (something that fast 1vs1 specialist helps to create) to have 7 or 8 chances that are result of Kulusevski-as-winger-setup when we have previously been swinging ball from one wing to another to back again and then in the end take a shot from questionable position in crowded box.
There has to be more directness and sharpness in our attacks. That will also make opposition think twice and adjust their positioning. So freaking often our gameplan lacked any cutting edge and it was just enough to put the middle part of the field full of defenders and leave flanks open, cause there was no danger coming from there.
Plus in terms of transitions our #6 position at the 2nd half of the season was bit of a shitshow. I never saw Biss or anyone else putting in really influential display and winning the ball back in this area like we did in 1st half of the season.
I surely agree that there is more than one way to skin a cat. I believe that getting in another specialist #6 (Emerson) and good 1vs1 winger (say Eze) would bring MUCH bigger effect than getting 10% better player to displace Sarr (to whom you were quite unfair - he was super important part of the team that started the season so well, and was increasing the tempo of our play sometimes single-handedly).

I think we are after Kubo. And tbh I’d rather spend the money on Kubo than Raphinha.
Raphinha is more Saudi than sand. It’s been obvious all summer that’s the place Barca are trying to shove him off to.
I'm pretty certain Ange won't want players not in the squad hanging around training sessions. That's not strictly true really, we can sign anyone and add them in place of one of the 4 we are hoping to move on, and then hopefully move the players on afterwards. Even if we can't move them on, they can still be replaced in the Euro squad by the new signing.
It's not ideal in terms of squad management, but this is certainly not an issue standing in the way of us adding players we actually want to the squad.
We shouldn't sacrifice improving the squad for this reason, because there's every chance that the players we don't want could be sat around waiting until deadline day for last minute panic moves, meaning that the players we do want either may not be available at such late notice, or at very least will have missed the beginning of the season.

We should convert more of these chances simply by having Solanke in the team (and by having Solonke and keeping Richie it also means less pressure for Richie to play if not 100% fit, so when he is rotated he should be even better as more injury free).
But having Solanke a proper number 9 again also means Son being played in his best position, and Solanke is able to link play which in turn means even more chances of creation and maybe goals from Son and the rest of the attacking players.
It means he improves our attacking output and our output is already one of the best in the league before he joined us.
Of course there are still loads to address and improve how we attack but Solonke alone should convert a higher % of chances, that alone moves the needle for us - turning draws and some losses into wins (Brentford, Woolwich away, even the Chav 9 man game, Wolves, Villa, West Ham x2, Liverpool away) at least 10 more points IMO.
So now we address the other major problem and that's oppo transitions against us and a 1v1 dribbly winger doesn't do this. (I still absolutely want one because we don't have someone who does this) but if we want to move the needle to make our biggest improvement then it's stopping oppo transitions becoming big chances against us.
If we've just added more goals by hiring Solanke (I'm as sure as I can be we have) and we can address conceding fewer goals (fewer big chances) from oppo transitions then we will be a better team. Focusing on a better #8 than Sarr will achieve this. (Ange's system is open as he commits many players forward so we will concede more chances than a less risk-averse team) but score 15 more, concede 20 fewer and we will be a top 3 side.
A 1v1 winger whilst absolutely needed doesn't address our biggest problem (Solanke will address us converting more chances), getting in an aggressive cunty #8 (that's why Ange likes Gallagher - people may dislike him but none of them can say Sarr is better with a straight face) will go a long way to addressing this weakness and thus make us a better side (WIN MORE FUCKING GAMES).
We all want a 1v1 specialist, I think we've all convinced ourselves that this is a priority, me included. But if you look at our biggest weakness then it is by far and away dealing with oppo transitions, when they happen it's like a knife through butter.
Last season (so before our recent signings) we created the 4th most "big chances" in the league (more than Woolwich) and I can't recall with accuracy but I think 2nd or 3rd in total chances per 90 but played most of the season without a Centre Forward, seeing as we've just addressed this with Solonke there is hope now that a higher % of those chances can be turned into goals if Solanke gets up and running fast. This alone keeps the oppo pinned back and turns some of the games we drew or lost into wins.
As much as I like him for his energy and work rate I think Sarr is currently an issue in how we control games (control midfield), IMO he's not well-rounded enough especially when we are on the ball, without the ball he great at winning the ball high up the pitch but is often nowhere to be seen in oppo transitions (this could be as a result of Ange's system committing numbers up the pitch) and I think he makes some good 3rd man runs but his execution is woeful when those runs are picked out.
Having more rounded number #8 makes a lot of sense to me someone who has the same energy levels as Sarr but is better on the ball, links play from Biss to forwards, keeps possession better and is more effective in smashing the fuck out of the oppo if they transition on us, we need a technical fouler in the middle of the park who can break up oppo transitions before they start (there's a possibility that Bentancur could do this, in fact, he can and has done).
So, the question is will we win more games by scoring more goals from the chances we create? Yes, we will and I think we've addressed this with Solonke (big fingers crossed here). Also, will we win more games if we fix our oppo transition issue? Yes, absofuckinlutely (Will also be transformative if we scored more set pieces and conceded less at set pieces).
1v1 dribbly wingers yes please, I still want and we still need and they are fun to watch but we conceded 61 goals last year this has to be our priority. (Under Ange we will concede more goals than lots of teams so I'm not expecting shut outs) If we improve just by 20 goals less conceded then that moves the ne
He might not.I'm pretty certain Ange won't want players not in the squad hanging around training sessions.
