Okay, that’s probably a relatively accurate assessment of his abilities.
Let me pose another question then, is that what we need in our midfield in terms of priority?

Because from the way I look at it, that type of player is where we are most covered in our squad? Sarr, Bentancur, Skipp, Bissouma (and Bergval who I have no doubt will be part of the first team squad) are all box to box 8’s.

We currently have no specialist DM and no real creative midfielder bar Maddison (assuming Lo Celso is off) and with that in mind, I really think money spent on Gallagher could be much better spent elsewhere.

I think Bissouma and Bentancur will play the deeper role. Skipp will go.

Gallagher and Sarr as a rotation for the B2B 8 is very very good tbh. I'd even play them together in a double pivot for some games as well.

Took me a long time to get my head around it but I do think we need Gallagher. As long as he's not the main signing and we do something serious about our attack.
