Report: Spurs are looking at French centre-back who has one year left on his contract

According to a report in L’Equipe, Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in signing Nantes’ defensive starlet Bastien Meupiyou.
Meupiyou has been seen as a potential future star for a while and it was reported by RMC Sport back in February that Tottenham were watching the youngster closely.
Are we that desperate to be looking at cartoon characters?

You honestly don’t think any Chairman buys players do you? They just set a budget and let highly paid DoFs, scouts, manager, etc buy the players. They may get involved in negotiations, but they aren’t any more involved in that.

Unless the apparently notoriously tight arsed Levy pays these guys for fuck all?

Always amazes me how so many fans think Levy starts out on a Monday morning jetting out to Italy to watch a young twenty year old prospect, jet's back at lunchtime to watch an under 21's match, catch a Championship game looking at a potential right back, and then meet the staff he's put in place to do all of this to discuss and review by midnight.

Always Levy's fault when we drop points at relegation fodder, and a big Ange masterclass when we score a 97th minute winner.

Some criticism can rightly be aimed at Levy, but then I look at the likes of Bolton, Pompey, Derby, Leeds, and the like and remember how they were driven to bankruptcy by Chairman who kept on playing football manager with their clubs financial accounts.

We may never spend a hundred million on a player here or their, but ask yourself this, is Grealish going to the Euros, and just why are United paying a sixty million seven year contract to a centre half who can't get a game for the National side?

Parrott isn't good enough, scoring goals at that dogshit level means nothing. Jozy Altidore and Vincent Janssen scored goals in that league.

Let's get some money for him and move on.
I dunno.

He has done very little of note up until now but; to get rid of him when he actually does more than we probably expected would be a bit......Spursy.

Wouldn't it?

Not sure how long we have him under contract for but a half season Championship loan must be worth a punt?

Agree with that lot, they all have to go but not sure what Solomon offers and never did. Then you're into the possibles like Forster, Davies, Skipp, Richarlison.

Agree with all of those, but we do need some depth.

Forster, I can see him here for one more year and we don't move for a keeper this summer to focus on other areas. The guy is shit though.

Davies one more year to maintain depth but hoping we add someone in between him and Udogie so we only see him if there is a injury crisis.

Skipp, similar, HG club trained. Good offer though and I think we should sell, for his careers sake as well.

Richarlison, we need two Strikers, no chance we sign two so I'd say he stays. If we do actually sign a top class forward, having Richarlison as a squad player is actually not bad.

Agree, especially when the club are talking about bringing back KWP and Edwards.

Makes little sense considering Edwards never proved himself.

I was annoyed with Spurs regarding Edwards.

His sale went through under Jose.

I recall Edwards agent was unwilling to cave in to Levy's hostage taking methods regarding contracts.

Edwards was a gifted, local player who the Spurs supporters would have loved.

To have given 200 games to a player like Winks but no game time to a player like Edwards was unforgivable and proves that Spurs is not run for footballing reasons.

No me neither

Tottenham Hotspur are set to appoint Southampton's Jack Chapman as their new head of academy recruitment.

Chapman has been Southampton's head of youth recruitment having joined the south coast club last summer from Swansea.

Chapman is set to start working at Tottenham later this summer and will leave Southampton on good terms, with figures at the newly-promoted Premier League club crediting him with helping to rebuild the recruitment and pre-academy programmes
