...meanwhile on SC there's page after page about Neto joining Spurs and how excited they are about it, after one of their Oracles spoke, "Neto has personally spoken with Ange and is keen."
How keen are his hamstrings, though?

What a loan of nonsense. Neto is always injured at wolves can we imagine what he’d be like with our medical team?!?!

I’m sure we’d like him without the injuries but so would half the league but no chance we are in for him. They aren’t even bothering to make their bullshit believable nowadays.

Bit of a dumb thing to say tbh. I haven't seen Bryan Gil and Ndombele play together in our midfield either but I have a pretty good idea it wouldn't work.

Football is all about making judgements on things you don't know 100% on. Eze I've watched plenty at Palace, maybe you haven't - he's not a good defender. Maddison we all know is flimsy and also not a good defender. Play them both together in the same midfield and my judgement is our midfield would have more holes in it than a Swiss cheese. Ange likes his midfields to be high pressing and high energy - Sarr and Bentancur bring that. You can't just load it with G/A merchants, this isn't fantasy football.

The only way I could see Eze and Maddison playing together in the same midfield is late on against relegation fodder if you need a goal but they won't be starting together regularly and I'll bet my account on that.

There's a reason why the best midfields usually have a B2B to partner with their creative mid, because all midfields need balance. Woolwich ended up with Rice and Odegaard in the #8s, we had Sarr and Maddison, Chelsea had Gallagher and Palmer.

The only successful team I can think of that regularly uses two #10s is City, but (1) KDB isn't really a #10 anyway, he's a big fucker who runs hard and who can get stuck in if needs be, 2) they have the best #6 on the planet covering them, we don't, and 3) they have arguably the best manager of all time figuring out how to make it work.
It’s a squad game. There would be times against extra defensive teams where we need more creativity and when both could play together. Then again, obviously against teams like Liverpool and City they wouldn’t work. There are more teams who try and shut up shop against us.

Leeds' bid to make Joe Rodon's loan move from Tottenham permanent is set to collapse as he is likely to join a Premier League club, with Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton all holding an interest in the Wales defender, 26.

He’s fine for the PL for one of those teams so a move to one of those makes sense rather than to Leeds.

Looks good on showreel. Anyone know more? If Bentacur and Hojberg are off could be a good replacement

I don't know if he actually plays as a midfielder but under Slot he's always stepped out of defence and joined the midfield, whether he's played CB or RB. For a defender he's very sound when stepping in to midfield. Often times it's actually him dictating the tempo of play, So he fits the profile of a versatile defender who cuts inside and he may even be able to play as the 6. Not the tallest for a CB also not the quickest of players so I'm curious how that will look in the EPL. But a good footballer

It's weird that a team that has just qualified for the Champions League would be happy to sell one of their best players. That said, I suppose it will give more chances for Jacob Ramsay to play if he can stay clear of injury.

i read somewhere Villa would have had to sell off a lot more players had they not qualified for champo league cos of FFP. Assuming it’s not bollocks (big if), a deal with money plus an extra player for a thin squad is an offer they prob can’t afford to refuse. Will definitely miss Doug though as I thought he was their best player .
