Haven't seen much of Doue before this morning tbh, different style but reminds me a bit of Bernardo Silva. Really works hard out of possession and gets stuck in, great balance and body strength, doesn't burn people for pace but beats players with turns/feints/close control (more conventional winger pace than BS). Kind of an 8/10/LW hybrid. Obv a long way from Bernardo Silva, just a nod to the profile of player he could be.

It was only ever about his mum… Once she knocked back Mr Levy he was dead to us.

Re Doue - I asked my French pals (mostly PSG, Lyon or Monaco fans) to speak to their own entourage, see if there was any Stade Rennais afficionados in there.

A few have come back to me. Overall consensus is:

- kid is bloody exciting to watch...he picks up the ball, you feel something's gonna happen that lifts you off your seat
- he's got mad tekkers, speed, can play all kinds of passes, knows where the goal is...can play LW, RW, AM or even as an 8
- plenty upside and if he keeps developing the way he's been since making the 1st team, he could end up as Rennes' best ever export...and almost as big a star as Mbappe for the NT (unless he opts to play for Ivory Coast)

But they also said that:

- it'd be mad for any top club to spend any more than 25 mil on a kid who to date hasn't even started 30 league games and who's averaged about 50 ish min pg...knowing he's got next to no squat European experience
- he's not that great a crosser and doesn't get that many touches, gives the ball away a lot...but I guess all dribbling machines do
- he looks far from being physical enough for the PL

So my view is, if we can't get a Nico Williams or someone else who's already elite and PL-ready, yeah by all means give that kid a shot cause the balance is positive. But no way we should pay a penny over 30 mil incl bonuses.

Sounds similar to Eze from your description?

I've been thinking about this for a bit but we might bring in Roony Bardghji. Right-sided winger, very technically sound, only 18, Swedish (instant kinship with Bergvall and Kulu), part of CAA Base and his contract expires in December of next season.
I agree. I posted something similar a few dozen pages back.

But as nicoclaesen says he is out for maybe up to a year.

Definitely one to keep an eye on imv. Especially as his contract will have run down to within 5 months or so by the time he has recovered.

I don't know if we had an interest had he been fit, if we did we (or any other prem club) could have got him as a club-trained player after 3 years as he is only 18 had we moved this summer. When he returns he will not.

Still worth keeping tabs on but I would guess he signs a new contract to give Copenhagen a better financial return than they might have gotten this summer. Also, I think any team wanting him would wait to see how his recovery develops.

What do I know?

We will definitely be paying over 30m to get him. As mad as that is, prices never make sense anymore.
