Smart would have been lying to the acountants that we got £30m like Chelsea would.

He's a lower league player. The fee is right. What isn't right is the BS above that makes the market look so skewed. Teams like Chelsea selling nothing players for tens of millions is faker than Jordans tits IMO.

He scored 17 goals in a Top European league, playing for a relegation team.

Have you watched enough of him to be sure he's a lower league player? At least right now not what he was?

I'm not saying keep him but 4=4 for a player who just scored and assisted that many goals is us getting ripped off.

He scored 10 league goals in the league Vincent Jansen scored 27 goals in.
The Dutch league is rubbish. Many players score prolifically there and are turds in real leagues.

This is what I mean about Parrott. Why do we get such low fees compared to City. This guy hasnt done half of what Parrot has done.

Bang on.

Here is the deal and what I really want Mr Levy to understand. When clubs overpay for City players it's because they want to try and buy some of City's success. The mentality is that City are good and have incredible players because they win, so the chances of a player unable to get in City's team being good is still very high.

Palmer was great for City's ability to charge clubs through the nose.

If we want to sell our players for more, we need success. It's that simple. The extra investment for buying elite level talent that wins you things DOES have a knock on effect in a positive way.

If we're being honest though, 7 of those goals did come in the play offs where he was up against teams in the division below.

What level would we say that was? League One? League Two?

He scored 17 in a team that got relegated. The extra 7 were in Play-Off games so if anything worth even more.
Play off games aren't the same as league games. You have to score to win vs defend not to lose.

My point is still the same, Jansen scored most of those 27 goals in half a season and he was cack.
The hit rate of forwards that are good there and take that form elsewhere is so low. For every RVN, there's a bunch of Jansens.

You're probably right about City over charging for a piece of their success to some degree. But it's more likely fraud.

If there were English clubs in for parrot i am sure we would have got more.

Let’s not make him out to be something he’s not. He got 3 goals in 32 appearances in the championship in 22/23 season. And 8 in 41 in league one the season before.

Take the money and move on.

They were Play-Off goals they mean even more.

Against teams in the league below.....

Just over 40% of his goals came against teams in the Eerste Divisie... A league that probably ranks below the Scottish Prem.

I think we could have got more for Parrott, personally. I think between 10-12m would have made more sense.

But we also don't know the situation. We may have offered him another 1 year extention and the offer to go out on loan again to see what come from it and he rejected it. Maybe Ange told him he sees Scarlett and Veliz as better options.

Yeah he is on an upwards curve though. Scroing goals and starting for his country, hitting a good age for a striker as well. I don't want to hear anyone say shit when he scores 20+ Eriedivisie goals next year and a big European club comes sniffing to AZ Alkmaar.

We had better have a sell on clause.

He may be.

He may also have just hit a purple patch and found his level scoring goals against players that play in a league full of players no one has ever heard of.

I would be willing to stick my neck on the line and say he probably won't score 20+ Eredivisie goals next season nor will any big European club come sniffing for him ever in his career.
