Here’s the question:

Can you find me a 6”2’ beast with pace, good touch and finishing, great box movement and able to occupy defenders whilst bringing others into the game? Oh and btw I also need them to have a unique aerobic profile where they are able to press like a maniac out of possession without losing any of their strength and power when they do have the ball.

The first answer would have been:

if he bring all that , then nice one
but i feel like he had one good prem season n one good Championship season
but to be honest i never really focus on him n dont know much about him
but many greats started late becoming great (26 is late in football years)

It’s not something you can really gauge though. It’s an attitude, a desire to work everyday, an ability to put the misses behind you and focus on the next chance. We’ve seen some good strikers move here over the years and completely shrink away.

Like the Neto quotes, this just sounds like there is something going on more than there is nothing going on.

The big tell is when he says they have 1 or 2 lined up if he does go… why would you have specific replacements lined up if you aren’t preparing for him to go?

I’ve seen a media story they we are very,very close to selling a small percentage of the club to investors ( didnt mention Amanda Staveley) and that it’s days away. It also said that it would give us 100s of millions towards our transfer budget and that it would be used this Summer. If there is any truth in this it could be a reason why we have holding our guns in the transfer market.

Aside from the fee (which I suppose is standard for home-grown, PL proven I guess) I am not against Solanke, I think he ticks all the boxes.

I’ve seen Gyokeres play live and he’s class. Similar to Solanke, his all round play and aggression, plus touch will massively improve us

Yeah, but the question was which kids did we buy then flip for profit. We may not have wanted to, but they were kids we sold for a massive profit. The only two I can think of so it's not really a practice we are renowned for, certainly not over the last 15 years.
