Yes but for the 100th time, all I disagreed with was the assertion that this is a decent market for strikers - it isn’t.

That’s it, that’s all I fucking said
Lol yeah I get you, just personally feel it's never a good market for strikers, I get what you're saying the prices seem crazy for what we're paying unfortunately that's the Chelsea's, psg's, city and the like manipulating the market.

Hmmm

Erm what? First you seem to be unsure as to why I called it a hypothetical story and then in the very next paragraph talk about the signings teams have made rendering your initial point utterly hypothetical, maybe your grey matter hasn't fully got going yet, let's read on.

Eh? There is such a thing as moving on you know. You brought up the signings so I addressed that and expanded on it.

You want to steer clear of questioning someone else's grey matter when that doesn't register.
When you have the talent city have you can buy toddlers, nice try though.

Like I said, you brought the signings up and he's a kid. City's squad was pushed to the last day by Woolwich, and it's premier talents are ageing. Do you think that boy will make the difference?
So we're now abandoning the teams stand still when they don't sign players argument to now teams have not made good signings? Cool, let's read on.

It wasn't an argument, it was a question. It seems you find the difference between the two difficult to grasp.
Hmmm, you seem to be arguing a point I never disputed so well done for that, let's keep reading.

I never claimed you did, but it was pertinent to the discussion, and was further explained immediately afterwards. You know, the bit you didn't highlight and chose to ignore.
Fair point, you're entitled to make judgements whenever you see fit, doesn't stop other making judgements when they want and given what we've been told about the clubs aims by the manager and the business that has been done and is rumoured to be in the process of being done, it looks like yet more guff for the masses to swallow, lets keep reading.

I've never once said that people can't make early judgements, I merely argue against them and give my reasons. It's the anger and vitriole that grates me as it's premature. Concern yes, outright anger no. If we're in the same boat come the end of the window then that anger is justified, and you won't be alone.
Yeah, you lost me here, that's a pretty nonsensical statement. We compete in a league, by default everyone is our competition but when we talk of rivals it's about rivals aiming for the same goals as you which I'm pretty sure you know and are conveniently ignoring by kidding on Ipswich Town are our rivals.
Not ignored, it's just my mindset when it comes to the league, and in particular winning it. As a fan, my rivals are those you would expect, Woolwich, Chelsea, Liverpool, City and Utd. Those are the teams I have that extra desire to beat. However, I want us to beat everyone, so they're all rivals. All you're doing there is applying semantics to score points.

The club has been monitoring Johnson for a couple of years, Paratici apparently watched him on numerous occasions, all before Ange arrived. Yes Ange said he chose to approve Johnson, but he didn't negotiate the fee with Forest and we dint know what alternatives he was presented with. Johnson may have been the best of a bad bunch

Maddison was the same. The club have been after him for years since his Norwich days, but last season it seems Levy got lucky with Maddison having one year left in his contract and Leicester were relegated so had no choice to sell for a reasonable fee.

We are not a club where the manager demands and then gets who he wants. He sets out the type of profile he wants and then the club searches and scouts potential options.

He did.

18 months before we signed him

That was reported the summer we signed Spence. Year before we signed Johnson.

Said something last season along the lines of “if we don’t improve the squad in the summer, I’m done”.

Can’t be fucked to spend time and money supporting a club run by people who mug off their fans at every possible opportunity.

When Levy hired Mourinho and Conte, he did so knowing how they play. They needed a quality defence to operate effectively and we didn’t give them one. We then go out and sign an attacking manager who needs a quality attack and we sell arguably the best striker we’ve ever had and fail to replace him. Ironically, Conte and Mourinho would have had a stiffy if they had the back line that we currently have (compared to what they had to work with).

£550m+ revenue and climbing (highest in London), the club sacked off discounts for pensioners and bumped prices up for everyone. Shitting on pensioners aside, the quality of what they’re selling needs to match the price they’re charging and at present, it’s not even close. They’ve got two weeks to get their shit together and improve our attacking options otherwise it’s going to be Groundhog Day yet again. Ange won’t last the year as they’ll sack him making it out like he’s the problem when the reality is that our lack of on field success is and always has been Levy’s fault.

It’s definitely getting harder to justify the season tickets. I’ll give it this season but it might be it. It’s obvious they are taking the piss out of us and every manager we have. Trouble is, it’s a good excuse to get out the house!

One player in world football is 22 years old,
He plays at LW...

WhY DidN'T LeVy N' Co BUy HiM THeN, HuUuh!?? WHy wHy WhY!!!!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!!!!??????? COnTrADiCTion!!!! ObViouSLY wE WouLD HavE iF hE waS GoOD!1!!

That is how you sound to me. Age and wages can be a pre-requisite for a player and not the be all end all. Whatever data lead approach Lange and his team is using could have flagged up any number of alternative players for any number of reasons and I frankly don't give a shit about THEIR reasons for not signing him. I have my own eyes and opinion and my original point, which you are so desperately strawmanning is that, for the system Ange wants to play, I could totally envision him at Spurs. He is very comfortable hugging the touchline, taking on players in 1v1 situations, assisting, drawing fouls and scoring. 20 goals and 9 assists in 46 matches in a league as competitive as the championship is impressive to me.

I think you need to calm down a bit mate, sounds to me like you've probably lost sight of the conversation a little.

I'm asking why according to your logic that we didn't sign Summerville because you inadvertently correctly pointed out that he fits our age profile and your response was some mental gymnastics crap, sorry not buying it.

I'm sure you could totally envision him at Spurs and good for you, I unlike you like to live in the real world and go by what players have already done at Spurs and in this instance it's Son, you can live on planet zog all you want but we already know that Son was a net positive playing in this system last season, if you believe that Summerville will be better than I'm happy for you,

So back to the point, this argument is stupid and we should probably park it until we know the TW is closed, good day

Levy seems to always think he can beat the system. I fear for this season if we don't sign at least one elite forward

Define.

Solanke had an outstanding season, and has played in 142 games over the past four seasons, Richy just 78.

Tell me which "elite" forward will come to a fifth place team playing in the Europa league in the middle of a squad rebuild, and i will show you a Unicorn named Daniel.

Ridiculous post.

So basically you want to have your cake and eat it. Wanna be able to criticise but without the expectation of having to make alternative suggestions.

Either criticise and back that up with sensible suggestions, or shut the fuck up and don’t do either.

As you said in an earlier post, you’re not a member of the coaching staff, and if that’s the messaging you want to go down, then you don’t get to dish out criticisms of potential transfers in either.

If you can’t see the hypocrisy in your messages, then I suggest you re-read your posts.

🙃

Eh?

I can offer an opinion on a player,, same as everyone else

Plus I'm not criticising any player, more the fact that we're not signing anybody!

ENIC Outers aren't the enemy you know, it's the people running the club that are the problem and their lack of genuine ambition.

No way is Tottenham Hotspur spending the likes of 65 million on 2 players each it will be solanke probably and more like a 15 to 20 million on a full back or midfielder. I would really like to know what Ange is really thinking because for us fans it don't look good at all

so who should we be going for? theres a drought on quality 9s in football right now.

in a front 3 it could be argued that the two wide forwards are more important than the 9. especially in a system like ours. haaland pretty much proves that at city, hes poor in buildup but he doesnt punch above his weight and waits for the service to come.

I know the players we should not be goimg near.

What do our bloody scouts do?
